We are now looking for a Global Finance Business Partner - Air Freight who provides insight and foresight that enables the Global Air Product team, Regional Air Product Teams and Transported by Maersk (TbM)* Leadership team to consistently create value for our customers and shareholders.
The key mission of the role is best in class business partnering with the Global Air Product Heads, Head of Air Finance, Regional Product Heads and Finance Business Partners across the globe. You will deliver timely and insightful analysis to support decision making and acting as co-driver for all growth, cost, cash conversion and investment initiatives. Founded in strong functional expertise, Global Finance Business Partner - Air Freight will provide guidance and support to the business while challenging business assumptions on a fact based and data driven approach combined with excellent commercial acumen. You will also create alignment between strategic direction set by Corporate (CEN) functions and execution from Region and Areas.

You will have an opportunity to work with Corporate (CEN) and Regional stakeholders such as Global Air Organization, Logistics and Services Product Finance, Region and Area Air Product Team and Air Freight Finance Business Partners, Global Delivery, and Global Asset Management to ensure consistent execution of activities to meet targets. You will take an active part in global and regional business partnering forums thereby ensuring that best practices are shared and applied to constantly raise the bar for value adding Finance Business Partnering. The role will report to Global Head of Finance – Air Freight.
Key responsibilities
- Coordinate global air monthly performance review, operation plan, rolling forecast, long term business plan and target setting processes. Connect different business areas (Delivery, Maersk Air Cargo and CEN Air, SG&A etc.) and act as an active sparring partner to Global Air Product Heads.
- Provide leadership and project management in developing and improving business performance reporting, measurement frameworks and effective financial analysis that will assist the management team in improving profitability, efficiency, and ability to achieve business objectives
- Support the global air strategic planning and implementation and the development and tracking of strategic initiatives.
- Partner with Global Air Product Heads to provide insights, derive action plans where improvement is required and drive growth agenda.
- Keep close communication with Air FBP communities in the regions and actively participate in global functional Communities, ensure best practices are shared across areas and regions. Provide training and guidance to Regional Air FBPs and contribute in the capability lifting in the region.
- Work with Tax, Transfer Pricing and Legal on establishing global air business model to optimize tax and operational efficiency.
- Provide input and review of investment cases, business process improvement and other projects and ensure compliance with global requirements.
What are we looking for
- Solid/extensive experience in FP&A, Investment Analysis or Business Partnering.
- Relevant industry experience, focus on Air Forwarding business.
- Education backgrounds in Accounting, Finance or Business studies and knowledge of Financial and Management accounting. CPA and Big 4 experience preferred.
- A proven track record of demonstrating real business acumen. Being able to navigate in a complex organization environment with a lot of stakeholders and influence without direct authority at various levels.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Able to adjust communication styles to the audience.
- Ability to work efficiently independently as well as in a cross-functional team.
- Good analytical skills and able to provide analysis and insights based on information available and reasonable assumptions.
- Self-starter, results driven, able to manage tight deadlines and handle ad-hoc requests.

Transported by Maersk (TbM) is the foundation of our integrator strategy. It caters for customers who have a logistics department capable of managing their supply chain themselves and want Maersk to transport their cargo in a container, where we are accountable for delivering the transportation outcome across Ocean and L&S products. The services/expertise we provide to customers are such as LCL, Air Freight, Ocean Freight, Landside Transportation, FCL etc.
