Head up our Marine Engineering Discipline in Lyngby
We are looking for a Head of Discipline who will lead our Specialists within marine engineering. We are a growing group of specialists working alongside our customers on some of Denmark’s biggest and most innovative projects.
Our new Head of Discipline will set the direction for our marine group located in Lyngby and work closely together with both our coastal and marine groups located in Aalborg. We deliver varius marine projects including port studies and development of ports, design of ports and marine structures, berthing structures etc.
You will refer directly to the VP, Head of Engineering, René Muff Thomsen, and work closely with him and the other Heads of Disciplines in the Department Special Disciplines, to secure growth and development for your employees and for the area as a whole.
Your key responsibilities will be:
- Day-to-day people management of 5-10 staff
- Executing the department action plan
- Setting clear targets for performance and development of your section's employees, including onboarding activities and individual development plans
- Manage project teams to great completion of projects
- Deliver technical knowledge and project management on projects
- Provide support and feedback to your staff
- Contribute to the growth of the marine pipeline through effective customer dialogue.

On top of that, you will have:
- An M.Sc. in Civil engineering and 10+ years of relevant consultancy experience
- Extensive knowledge in Marine Engineering, design of port structures, berthing structures etc.
- Significant experience in managing and designing port structures, other structures in the marine enviroment and/or climate adaptation
- Practical knowledge of concrete and steel structural design and detailing
- Good insight in overseeing teams and project management skills on a high level
- Proficient interpersonal abilities and technical skills
- Domestic and Scandinavian marine / coastal market awareness is beneficial
- Communication skills in English (verbal and written). Knowledge of a Scandinavian language (Danish, Swedish, Norwegian).
