Color & Material Designer

ECCO SKO A/S

Some see brown. You see chestnut, cognac, and caramel.
Bring your creative ideas to life in ECCO Design Studio and help us shape the future of the women’s footwear collection team.

You’ll join a growing team of creative souls with numerous nationalities and backgrounds. It’s a wonderful vibrant atmosphere where we bring ideas to life” says Louise Vanggaard Hansen, Chief of Staff, Design Studio.

From concept to collection – shape each colour and material
At our HQ in Tønder, you will play an important role in developing the look and feel of our women’s footwear collections.

In this creative development process, you will work closely with our designers, 3D artist, our commercial team, material development organisation and product developers in Europe and Asia. And doing so, you will ensure that our colour and material concepts align with ECCO’s vision and the markets’ needs.

More specifically, you will:

  • Develop material and colour concepts that align with seasonal directions and ECCO’s global collection strategy
  • Collaborate with our designers to apply colours and materials to new prototypes, ensuring all concepts are ready for production
  • Research trends and refine material and colour concepts with a smooth handover to Research & Innovation
  • Optimise materials and costs by selecting price-appropriate solutions, reducing the material portfolio while maintaining quality and design integrity
  • Support sustainable material development, ensuring timely execution and data-driven decision-making to support ECCO’s sustainability goals.
  • Ensure all creative executions and developments are traceable within our internal PLM system to keep transparency within the organisation

To stay ahead of trends, we have a very agile way of working, and things change fast. But we always have each other’s back. If you need a helping hand, just say it – we are here for each other” says Louise.

You know that beige is never just beige
Whether you are an experienced colour & material designer or just starting out, we welcome your application. You will have the opportunity to grow and develop your skills, no matter your level. What truly matters is your ability to adapt, embrace new trends, and thrive in a creative environment. Because here, we do not see the world in black and white.

We also imagine that you:

  • Have an aesthetic sense – and maybe bring a background from design, trend analysis, textiles, or a related creative field
  • Have experience with Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop
  • Like to follow new trends and developments and you have the ability to incorporate that into your design work
  • Speak and write English effortlessly – and you have the flexibility to travel to visit fairs and go on inspirational trips but not more than 20 days a year
