Process Optimization & Project Manager

Hempel A/S

Will You Speak Up to Share Opportunities for Improvement and Drive Change?

Are you passionate about process optimization and the principles of process excellence? Are you excited about building global processes and seeking opportunities for digitalization and automation? Do you have the necessary drive to manage your own projects and lead the change?
Hempel is on a journey to become an industry leading enterprise, where a key deliverable in People & Culture is to review and streamline our processes and optimize them for global scale and capacity. Purpose of our team "P&C Analytics, Processes & Technology" is to enable a seamless employee experience, where processes, technology and data align to enable Hempel’s growth journey.

We are looking for a new member in our process excellence team, who will have dual responsibilities: on the one hand being a process excellence expert and sparring with process owners on how to mature their processes, on the other hand managing and driving large global projects within People & Culture. The role requires a blend of process excellence capabilities, project, stakeholder and change management expertise, as well as a passion for improving employee experience. The position would be based in Lyngby, Denmark or Gdansk, Poland.

Some of the tasks you will be entrusted with

  • As a project manager, lead key global process optimization projects from project planning to implementation. Lead and facilitate project meetings and workshops, such as value stream mapping or process design sessions.
  • Develop, maintain and continuously improve the framework around process excellence in People & Culture, with the aim to drive process standardization, digitalization and automation of our people processes
  • Oversee and improve process maturity in P&C and consult and support process owners with progressing on their process optimization journeys
  • Engage and bring others onboard the process excellence journey
  • Establish a systematic approach for process audits and performance measurement together with process owners, HRIS and People Analytics

Behavioral competencies most relevant in order for you to flourish?

  • Collaboration and communication – Designing solutions together is how we drive process optimizations and therefore wanting to collaborate should be part of how you like to work. You will listen to stakeholders’ needs, provide clear direction and communicate clearly verbally and in writing, as well as influence without authority at all organizational levels. Excellent collaboration with process owners, HRIS team and People Analytics is the foundation for your success!
  • Continuous improvement mindset -You are dedicated to continuous improvement, keen on identifying inefficiencies in processes, as well as solving issues at their root cause. You will play a key role in fostering a culture of continuous improvement within P&C, and therefore a willingness to experiment, learn from failures, and adapt to new ways is crucial.
  • Structure – As you will be given specific project to run yourself, it is important that you have the ability to structure a project plan and drive the execution of project deliverables on time.
  • Maturity to take decisions – We will need to strike a balance of when to find a consensus agreement within P&C, and when to take a decision and move on. What we cannot have is stalled optimization due to a fear of taking decisions. The ideal candidate feels capable of making challenging shots, scope deliverables and move on.

What we expect you to have in your backpack as background and experience

  • Long or medium long education in relevant discipline
  • Experience in leading and global transformation initiatives, preferably within a HR process environment
  • 5+ years of HR process consultant experience or similar, including responsibility for projects and the delivery hereof
  • Project management skills - organized, detail oriented and execution focused.
  • Experience with Workday and HR case management solutions.
  • Solid knowledge of the HR function, processes, and best practices is a plus.
  • Experience with integration of new businesses (acquisitions) into existing processes and technology is a plus.
