Job Description
Love building with LEGO bricks — and reimagining what they can become?
As a Product Designer, you bring play to life. You’ll design new models, develop fresh building experiences, and help shape future LEGO products with creativity, care, and curiosity.

This ad isn’t for a current job opening — it’s your chance to join our Product Designer Talent Pool. Apply to be considered for upcoming roles and help us design the next generation of LEGO sets. Core Responsibilities

  • Design new LEGO models and building experiences.
  • Create builds that are fun & playful, functional, and faithful to the LEGO System in Play.
  • Collaborate closely with Concept Designers, Graphic Designers, Element Designers, and others to bring ideas to life.
  • Work across themes, age groups, and building styles — from character-driven sets to system innovations.
  • Support team dialogues on the value of play, model clarity, building challenge, and storytelling potential.
  • In the LEGO design process, you take the lead in developing and refining LEGO models, ensuring structural stability, build quality, and attention to details.

Based in Billund, Denmark, LEGO Design is home to nearly 600 passionate creatives from around the world. Together, we build iconic LEGO experiences that spark joy, imagination, and hands-on creativity.

As a Product Designer, you’ll join one of our product teams and collaborate across disciplines to develop play experiences that delight and inspire builders of all ages.

Do you have what it takes?

  • Whether your background is in industrial design, architecture, toy design, or another creative field, what matters most is that you have experience with LEGO model building.
  • A strong passion for building with LEGO bricks and understanding of the LEGO System in Play.
  • Ability to design original models with a focus on play value, clarity, and creativity.
  • Curiosity about designing for different age groups and a sense of what makes a LEGO set fun & playful, functional, and/or collectible.
  • Comfortable iterating LEGO models based on feedback.
  • A collaborative, curious, and hands-on approach to creative problem-solving.
  • 3D modelling or digital building skills (e.g., LEGO Digital Designer, Studio) are a plus.

Portfolio Guidelines
We’d love to see how you think and build. Your portfolio should include:

  • Original LEGO models — both physical builds and/or digital ones.
  • A range of model types (e.g. characters, vehicles/cars, functions, architecture, sculptural builds, displays).
  • Ideally, reflections on how you envision your models can be played with, what stories they tell, and what experiences they offer.
  • Clear photos or renders of your work, ideally supported by notes on your thinking and inspiration
  • A short written intro sharing your background and what excites you about designing LEGO play experiences.
