About the role
We are looking to hire a Junior Payments Officer to join our Payment Monitoring team in London, reporting to our Team Lead, Payment Monitoring.
In this role you will get the chance to work in a team whose main responsibility is to monitor and repair any payments with processing exceptions and ensure smooth payments operations. You will be working closely with our senior team members who will support and mentor you to succeed in this role.
What you will be doing
- Monitor and manage a growing volume of daily non-STP payment flows
- Dig into the why behind the what of the payment flows
- Communicate with correspondent banks and internal teams to resolve issues and uncover patterns
- Investigate and analyze payment-related queries from financial institutions and clients
- Contribute to improvements in our processes and systems by identifying inefficiencies, raising ideas, and contribute to automation initiatives
What we are looking for
To be the right candidate for this position, you are either a recent graduate in Financial Management or a similar field, or you have some experience in financial services. It is a must that you are able to write SQL queries for analysis and monitoring purposes, or you have knowledge of another programming language topped with the ambition to learn SQL.
You have an interest in payments infrastructure, and you are eager to explore systems like SEPA, TIPS, and CHAPS. You thrive in a fast-paced and evolving environment, and you work well with others.
As a person you enjoy solving puzzles and complicated tasks, you recognize patterns, and you bring structure to ambiguity, even in fast-moving and sometimes messy workflows. You are curious and analytical by nature, and you are motived to understand how things work, why things don’t work and how they can work better, and you are not afraid to challenge status quo.
As Banking Circle is an international company it´s a requirement, that you are fluent in English.
