Core Responsibilities
As a Lead Engineer, you will:
- Guide and mentor a product team, taking full technical ownership of a diverse portfolio of digital platform products while ensuring efficient, scalable solutions.
- Analyze complex requirements and collaborate with the Principal Engineer to define the technical roadmap and system architecture.
- Establish best-in-class engineering practices, champion agile processes, and cultivate a high-performing team culture.
- Continuously assess and integrate innovative software products, tools, and methodologies that create tangible business impact.
- Oversee supplier engagement—evaluating technical proposals, defining delivery standards, and specifying data interface requirements.
- Operate with a DevSecOps mindset, ensuring that “you build it – you own it” by prioritizing secure coding and security by design.

This part of the Digital Technology organization primarily support the Engineering and Manufacturing areas of the LEGO Group with digital solutions. We are looking for an exceptional lead engineer in the Platform Technology department.
Platform Technology consists of product teams that support critical digital platforms used within our Omnichannel, Manufacturing & Product Engineering Technology domain. We support our colleagues with tools for registering data, controlling the processes and connecting to machines for automatization and optimizing processes.
As Lead Engineer, you'll collaborate closely with the Greenfield Automation product team. This innovative Greenfield project aims to revolutionize the factory packaging area by integrating cutting-edge technology and optimized designs, thereby enhancing production efficiency and cutting costs. It is set to be implemented in future factories. Your role as Lead Engineer involves not only supporting and developing the optimal architecture across products but also actively participating in software development.
Do you have what it takes?
We’re looking for a Lead Engineer with:
- Extensive experience in software development and enterprise infrastructure architecture.
- Deep technical expertise in cloud development, microservices, API development, and CI/CD pipelines.
- Strong understanding of Domain-Driven Design and loosely coupled architectures.
- A proven track record of building robust, scalable, and flexible software solutions.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage stakeholders and guide complex technical decisions.
- A change-ready mindset, thriving in a dynamic and inspiring environment.
- A collaborative spirit—teamwork and diversity matter to us.
Bonus skills that make you stand out:
- Knowledge of Mechanical Engineering or Manufacturing solutions.
- Experience with Industry 4.0 technologies.
- Familiarity with SAP.
- Understanding of PLCs and Operational Technology (OT).
- Experience with container technologies like Docker and Kubernetes.
- Exposure to AWS or Azure cloud platforms.
- Comfort working across different time zones in a global setting.
