Assistant/Associate/Full Professor (tenured) in Pharmaceutics

A position as tenured Assistant/Associate/Full Professor in Pharmaceutics is open from 1 October 2024 at the Department of Physics Chemistry and Pharmacy, SDU.

A candidate with experience within pharmaceutical sciences where possibilities for cooperation with current pharmacy staff is prioritized. These include:

  • Biopharmaceutics
  • Drug formulation
  • Parenteral formulations
  • Oral formulations
  • Pharmaceutical manufacturing and engineering
  • Advanced pharmaceutical analysis.

It is furthermore expected that the successful candidate will have a genuine interest in and experience with interdisciplinary research, and bridge-build towards relevant scientific disciplines within the department.

Tasks

  • Teach in our educational programmes especially within the pharmacy education.
  • Establish highly impactful independent research, preferably within one or more of the following areas: biopharmaceutics, drug formulation, parenteral formulations, oral formulations, pharmaceutical manufacturing and engineering, or advanced pharmaceutical analysis.
  • Obtain external funding for independent research and collaborative research programmes.
  • Mentor undergraduate, graduate, and research students.
  • Bridge-build between the various disciplines within the interdisciplinary Department of Physics, Chemistry and Pharmacy.
  • Initiate and participate in public, media, and local school outreach activities.
  • Participate in the daily operation, administration and further development of the department’s strategy and education programmes.

Skills
An MSc in Pharmacy or equivalent and a PhD degree are required for the position. It is expected that the successful candidate will bridge-build towards relevant scientific disciplines of interdisciplinary nature within the department and beyond. The ability to communicate clearly, and creativity in teaching – preferably in Danish - is a prerequisite. For non-Danish speaking applicants, it is expected that teaching in Danish or another Scandinavian language will be possible after two years of appointment.

The Department of Physics, Chemistry and Pharmacy
The Department of Physics, Chemistry and Pharmacy offers a broad range of collaboration opportunities within research, funding applications and teaching, which are all essential tasks in the offered fellowship. The candidate will be part of the Section for Chemistry and Pharmacy and will work in a highly collaborative atmosphere with theorists and experimental scientists.
