Then you have come to the right place. Squad Odyssey, our cloud operations platform squad is looking for a new platform engineer to do just that.

At Lunar we are democratizing the power of money and changing the way we all bank, pay, and invest. We have grown by leaps and bounds since starting in Aarhus in 2015 and are now considered a major player in the Nordics with offices in Aarhus, Copenhagen, and Stockholm, as well as employees working remotely across Europe.

As a Platform Engineer, you will be located in our Aarhus office in DK and you will be working in a small team with high ambitions, technical expertise, and a product mindset. In this position, you will report to Bjørn Hald Sørensen, our Head of Technology at the Empower colony. We are very flexible in our ways of working and have members in both Stockholm and Aarhus. This means we are a hybrid team where we most of the time have someone working remotely. Together with three other squad members you will join forces and continue to enable and empower all other Engineers and Developers at Lunar.

Our Empower colony provides a self-service platform that enables and boosts all of Lunar’s engineers by giving them the tools and capabilities they need right when they need them. The only way to scale the platform is to have a high level of self-service, clear APIs, great documentation, and an open mind for guiding and engaging with our engineers.

We support more than 150 engineers across application development and data & analytics, with a secure and reliable development, delivery, and runtime platform. We do things in parallel and we move fast - to enable this, our engineering platform is required to be a non-blocker and must make the “right way” the “easy way”.

• Existing experience as a senior platform engineer or from a similar role
• Experience within the Cloud Native ecosystem
• Seasoned user of Kubernetes and know the ins and outs
• Knowledge and a drive for enabling and working with other engineers
• Flexibility and availability to work in a hybrid environment, as the team also exists in Stockholm
• Fluent in English

Our tech stack
Our engineering platform is built around open source technologies like Backstage, Kubernetes, and Grafana and with carefully designed abstractions enabling developers to leverage the full force of the platform without limiting them in a few special cases. We are serving over 750 microservices and more than 200 releases every day to our environments and they are primarily built with Go.

• Key technologies include Kubernetes, Grafana, Prometheus, LogScale (Humio), and Terraform. Not all are required to be a great match with Kubernetes being the only exception
• Sometimes a little Go sneaks in, but definitely something we can teach you

What will you do?

• Designing and managing Container Runtime solutions to ensure efficient operation of Lunar's developer platform

• Ensuring optimal functionality and performance of API gateways to support developer operations
• Collaborating closely with team members and other squads to enhance the observability stack, fostering a culture of self-service and empowerment
• Implementing and streamlining infrastructure deployments using Terraform to enable seamless development and delivery processes
• Offering mentorship and guidance to junior team members for skill development and project execution, fostering a collaborative and supportive team environment
