The R&D Specialist (Mechanical Engineer) is responsible for supporting our consumables and accessories from a R&D mechanical engineering perspective and will take a key technical role in ensuring the right quality and performance of our products. This position is part of the Sensor, Solutions and Accessories Section which is part of Radiometer Global R&D located in Brønshøj, Copenhagen and will be hybrid. At Radiometer, our vision is to improve global healthcare with reliable, fast, and easy patient diagnoses.

You will be a part of the R&D Mechanics team and report to the Senior Manager, Mechanics responsible for ensuring highest quality consumables and accessories used in the different Radiometer instrument platforms. In this role, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Work with a broad range of mechanical engineering aspects related to Radiometer’s consumables, that may include disciplines as material science, fluid mechanics, microfluidics, design for injection molding, design for manufacturing and others.
  • Take design ownership for selected products to ensure highest quality, performance and availability for our customers.
  • Work in a cross-site team (DK – Poland) with close interactions to sensor specialists, operations, sourcing, suppliers, QA/RA, technical project managers and system engineers.
  • Contribute to a newly established team of mechanical engineers and consumable experts all focusing on Radiometers broad range of consumables and accessories.

The essential requirements of the job include:

  • Experience in developing and sustaining consumables and accessories for the medical device market
  • Multiple years of experience from roles as technical lead and/or technical design owner
  • Experience in leading projects and project swim lanes in larger development projects
  • Experience in design control for IVDR and MDR devices
  • A Bachelor of Science, Master of Science or PhD degree in mechanical engineering or similar

It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:

  • Multiple years of experience with PTC Creo and Windchill
  • Experience with design for injection molding
  • Experience in microfluidics and fluid transport

This position is eligible for a hybrid work arrangement in which you can work part-time at the Company location identified above and part-time remotely from your home.
