About Agreena

Agreena is an exciting, dynamic, and purpose-oriented organisation united in a mission to mobilise farmers and corporations to unlock the value of nature and help restore the planet. While we’re rooted in agriculture, finance, and technology, our team of experts range from soil carbon scientists and software developers to market strategists and regulatory affairs experts. Over 230 employees across more than 40 nationalities are gathered under the common Agreena flag – either working from our headquarters in Copenhagen, offices in London, or remotely across Europe.

As a rapidly scaling climate agtech, Agreena provides solutions that drive both environmental and financial sustainability in farming. We have helped farmers across 18 countries in their conversion journey from conventional agriculture to regenerative farming practices to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and remove CO2 from the atmosphere, storing it in soil. Our company offers a supportive and positive work environment with opportunities for learning, leading and growth no matter where you are in your professional journey. We believe in giving our employees a lot of responsibility, and we encourage new thinking, innovation and fun.

And this is where you come in:

We are looking for an experienced Engineer who will be in charge of our data warehouse maintenance and development and will also work closely with stakeholders to help them make the right data-driven business decisions by utilising our BI platform.

Our Data Stack is PostgreSQL (+PostGIS), S3, AWS Glue (including Workflows), AWS Lambda, AWS Athena and AWS QuickSight, and we have ambitions to expand it towards a Geographic/Spatial Data Lake. Supported by our DevOps team, we use Terraform and Git to manage the infrastructure (as a Code) and ETL processes.

Ideally you will be located in the UK, Denmark or Germany for this position.

Your responsibilities:

    • Keeping DWH data models up to date, documented, and easy to use for not technical users.
    • ETL processes and Data warehouse maintenance and development.
    • Data governance and access management.
    • Development and maintenance of data sources on our BI platform (we use AWS QuickSight).
    • Business Intelligence platform administration.
    • Assisting colleagues in gaining access to the right data and building their reporting tools.
    • Ad hoc reporting and data-related tasks in collaboration with internal stakeholders.
    • Working with programmers, engineers, and management to identify process improvement opportunities and data governance strategies.

Requirements to succeed in the role:

    • 3+ years of hands-on experience working with DWH development / maintenance, data architecture or data setup & structure.
    • Experience with development of analytical tools and dashboards with any BI platform.
    • Advance knowledge and experience working with SQL.
    • Experience with data modelling and ETL processes.
    • Hands-on experience in coding and analytics, Python, SQL.
    • Deep understanding of data architecture on AWS and its services.
    • Experience with AWS data technologies for data processing (S3, Athena, Glue, Lambda).
    • Apache Spark (AWS Glue) - basic knowledge.
    • A "service gene" shown by a can-do attitude to helping both data owners and data users.
    • A commercial mindset where efforts are made into helping to get maximal insights from the data available.

Bonus points if you have:

    • Experience with Terraform, Ansible or Puppet.
    • Portfolio showcasing strong data visualisations and data processing skills.
    • Understanding and showcasing how data insights have driven business results.
    • Experience in agriculture-related data processing tasks.
    • Experience in Geospatial Data Lakes development and maintenance on the AWS platform.
    • Experience with Fivetran.

What's in it for you:

    • A truly global environment where you can collaborate and socialise with diverse and passionate colleagues.
    • Competitive salary.
    • Remote work policy.
