Mechatronics/Mechanical Engineer at ATLANT 3D
ATLANT 3D Nanosystems ApS
Are you a Mechanical Engineer passionate about mechatronics and eager to push the boundaries of mechanics, electronics, controls, and software? Do you thrive in environments where innovation is the status quo, and problem-solving is a daily adventure? If yes, then you're the talent we're looking for at ATLANT 3D!
At ATLANT 3D, you'll join a team dedicated to disrupting the status quo with our industrial-grade nanofabricators that operate with unparalleled atomic-level precision. It's not just a job; it's a mission to make history in the making of tomorrow's technologies.
Your role:
As a Mechatronics/Mechanical Engineer, you'll dive into the heart of our engineering marvels, from desktop form factors to behemoth industrial machines. Your day-to-day will involve architecting and designing subsystems, test fixtures, and the very systems that define the future of nanofabrication.
What you'll do
- Architect and design complex subsystems (e.g. mechanical, pneumatics, air flow, gas delivery, heating, etc.), test fixtures, and nanofabrication systems for manufacturability and reliability.
- Analyze, test, validate and iterate on electro-mechanical systems, thermo-mechanical systems, and opto-mechanical systems.
- Create detailed designs in CAD and well-specified, accurate drawings.
- Mentor and guide junior colleagues’ work and lead technical excellence.
- Participate in design reviews and help solve design, engineering, manufacturing, and compliance challenges.
- Plan, execute, monitor, control, and provide activity/project status.
- Collaborate with our R&D, Applications, and Operations to bring designs from prototype to production.
- Push the capabilities of atomic layer deposition / ALD-based manufacturing technologies.
What you'll bring
- 3+ years of industry experience. We want to see that you have applied, failed, and learned many times.
- Have direct experience with the full product development cycle from concept through production.
- Familiarity with a variety of manufacturing techniques including machining, sheet metal fabrication, and additive manufacturing for creating industrial high-performance products.
Skills:
- Proficiency with structural design, mechanisms, heat transfer and thermal systems, and camera/vision systems.
- Hands-on and can work across disciplines to prototype your designs and solve problems with efficiency and simplicity.
- Able to translate real-world problems into mathematical models (e.g. free body diagrams, heat balance, flow diagrams, etc.), CAD models, simulation models, and test models. Be able to verify & validate agreement between these models.
- Expert proficiency in 2D & 3D CAD Modeling (preferably Solidworks 2023)
- Self-motivated, action-oriented, and results-oriented
- Ability to continuously learn
Nice-to-have
- Proficiency with ISO 9001 and various safety and ergonomics standards for industrial machines, such as CE, UL, and SEMI.
- Experience working with outside design consultancy and/or contract manufacturer
- PLM/document control systems
- Industrial design skills
- Design of a precision gas delivery system for ALD, or similar, equipment
Education: BSc in Mechanical or Mechatronics Engineering, proving your grasp of fundamental engineering principles. Higher degrees are welcome but not required.
Application Process:
Eager to embark on this transformative journey? Please submit your resume along with an optional portfolio showcasing your work. Your resume will be reviewed by our team, followed by an HR screening call, designed to get to know you better and understand your career aspirations. The next step involves a home-based technical challenge, allowing you to demonstrate your practical skills and problem-solving abilities, followed by an interview with our Head of Engineering.
Join us at ATLANT 3D to shape the future of nanofabrication, atom by atom. Apply today and let's build the unimaginable together!
