Student assistant with a strong sense of organization and an interest in climate research

Are you passionate about communication and research administration? Would you like to contribute to the development and operation of Aarhus University's interdisciplinary climate center, iClimate?

iClimate, Department of Environmental Science, Aarhus University (in Roskilde), is seeking a skilled student assistant with a keen eye for detail to work on communication and research administration. We are in need of a new colleague to start on June 1, 2024, or as soon as possible thereafter.

This is a permanent position.

Tasks
As a student assistant at iClimate, your primary tasks will include, but are not limited to:

  • Drafting meeting agendas and coordinating meeting schedules
  • Planning and executing workshops and other events.
  • Editing and structuring website content (Typo3)
  • Membership administration and updating membership databases.
  • Contributing to the preparation of newsletters, LinkedIn posts, and other communication tasks

We emphasize that you:

  • Are enrolled in a higher education program – preferably with at least 2 years remaining in your studies. Being in the early stages of your studies is advantageous, as we aim to retain you as an employee for many years.
  • Have an interest in green transition and climate-related research.
  • Can work independently and are detail-oriented and thorough in your task execution.
  • Strong written English skills are important as the research environment in iClimate is international.
  • Possess good organizational and communication skills. Experience with communication on LinkedIn and similar platforms is an advantage but not a requirement.
  • Have experience with website building and editing (familiarity with Typo3 is preferred but not mandatory. Training will be provided if needed).

Regarding any ad hoc communication tasks, experience with/interest in communication tasks and strong writing skills would be beneficial.

Who we are:
iClimate is Aarhus University's interdisciplinary climate center under the Faculty of Technical Sciences.

Administratively, iClimate is located at the Department of Environmental Science, physically situated at Risø near Roskilde.
iClimate's members consist of researchers employed at Aarhus University whose research in one way or another pertains to climate change and the green transition.
Physically, iClimate's members are spread across all Aarhus University locations, primarily in Aarhus, Viborg, and Roskilde.

Research at iClimate spans from climate modeling, measurements, and monitoring to more solution-oriented engineering and social sciences, including economics and political analysis.

Formalities and salary range
Salary and terms as agreed between the Danish Ministry of Finance and the Union of Commercial and Clerical Employees in Denmark/State (HK/Stat) for clerical staff, laboratory technicians and IT employees and the joint collective agreement concluded between the Danish Ministry of Finance and the Organisations of Public Employees - Denmark - Danish State Sector (the OAO-S joint collective agreement).
