Finance > Group Finance > Group Tax -> Global VAT Advisory
In Group Tax we have the Global responsibility for all direct and indirect taxes (except customs and payroll) in Vestas.
As part of Group Tax, we in the VAT team set the global governance and strategy for VAT related matters - working with technology, processes, reporting & compliance and advisory. We also have the reporting responsibility for a range of entities related to the Group.
We work closely with our colleagues across the globe with colleagues in the Global Tax organization, across business (from procurement and supply chain to sales) to secure compliance in new and existing trade flows with internal and external suppliers. Additionally, we have a great collaboration with our shared service center in Manila, Philippines, to secure efficient and scalable execution in our processes.
The VAT team currently consists of 5 people where we have a wide variety of competencies within processes, compliance, and technology.

Responsibilities

  • Your primary responsibilities will be acting as an advisor to business on how to secure VAT compliance in different kinds of trade (for example cross border trade, chain transactions with multiple countries and companies involved, purchase of goods and services delivered abroad, etc.)
  • You will be proving VAT advice internally in the team and across our VAT colleagues abroad in connection with VAT audits, new VAT registrations, Financial close audits etc.
  • Solving day to day compliance queries from various stakeholders
  • You will also be responsible for our internal global VAT control framework, both monitoring and improving the existing setup
  • You will be working closely with VAT team on how to implement the VAT legislation in our ERP system (SAP) and in our processes

Qualifications

  • Relevant bachelor’s or master’s degree in law (e.g. cand.merc.jur, cand.jur or the like) or relevant background within VAT advisory
  • Knowledge of VAT rules is a prerequisite
  • Knowledge of excise duties (not customs) is an advantage
  • Experience with advisory from either consultancy or an inhouse role is an advantage
