The position
As Research Project Manager you will coordinate and manage the activities of the cross-functional project team through the different stages of early product development from an approved idea to transfer of demonstrated projects to R&D Manufacturing Development. The various stages cover proof of business and discovery, including selection, product characterization and early process development of innovate solutions.

Your responsibility will be to:

• Secure close collaboration with stakeholders, incl. line management, Strategic Marketing, Business Development, Manufacturing Development, external collaborators, partners, and customers.
• Create and develop project plans and break down project key deliverables and risk management in close collaboration with the project team.
• Direct project execution and monitor the timing of project activities together with team members.
• Clearly and timely communicate project requirements.
• Drive scientific collaborations.

Qualifications
To succeed in the role:
• You hold a PhD in Biochemistry, Engineering, Life-Science, or another relevant scientific field.
• Have an additional 3 years or more of hands-on experience with laboratory work; experience with protein purification is required and experience with cell cultures and/or enzymes and/or development of chromatographic materials is considered a major advantage.
• Have a proven track record of at least 5 years of experience with project coordination from pharma, biotech or similar.
• Experience with tech transfer and manufacturing in GxP regulated facilities is an advantage.
• You are fluent in both written and spoken English.

About the department
We are 20 employees in R&D Research consisting of two teams of Principal Scientists, Research Scientists, Laboratory Technicians and laboratory supporters. You will become part of a small group of project managers with direct report to the head of R&D Research, where we work in close collaboration with the two research teams. R&D Research develops and supply novel materials for manufacturing of therapeutic proteins and purification solutions in the biopharmaceutical industry. We work in close collaboration with our customers to develop optimal solutions for new and existing molecules used for the treatment of many different conditions.
