About the Quality Control Department
Our Quality Control (QC) department at site Hillerød consists of approximately 230 employees divided into different support teams and four testing teams. About the team
The QC Microbiology team currently consists of 46 dedicated employees, divided in two microbiology teams and one EM team. The primary daily delivery in the team is testing of release, in-process, UM/EM samples and stability samples of our commercial products (DS/DP) using various compendia methods (Bioburden, endotoxin, CCI, ID of species etc.). The team deliveries play an important role as part of the DSM production and facility – especially around the microbial control strategy during production, but also in case there are excursions or investigations that require microbial support. The microbiology teams (technicians), works 7 days a week on normal working hours to support fast turnaround time of Bioburden and Endotoxin samples that needs to be analyzed within 24 hrs.

FDBD is often inspected by authorities, and therefore part of the daily business is assuring the right level of GMP in the department. And not least we perform qualifications, handle deviations, CAPAs, invalid assays, OOS’, Change Controls and much more. All this is part of our daily activities in respect of getting the commercial products out to the patients.

The FDBD site is expanding over the next years with a Fill & Finish facility for drug product and further Drug Substance (DS) production. There is a great possibility to be involved in projects with different departments due to the many activities as part of the expansion.

To improve and keep track with the increasing workload on analyzing samples due to the expansion of the site there is a strong focus on new technologies to be implemented in the QC microbiological laboratory.

About the position
When working at FUJIFILM Diosynth Biotechnologies Denmark you will, besides from the tasks listed below, onboard new customers and products to the site, build a network across QC and FDBD, support our site expansion project, and assist in finding new and innovative ways of working smarter in a complex everyday life.

As Team Leader/Associate Manager in QC Microbiology, you will be managing a mixed team of Lab technicians and microbiologist. You will have four associate managers as colleagues. The team and our organization will continue to expand and adapting due to the site expansion where we in 2025 expect a 3x DS manufacturing and one new DP manufacturing facility on site in Hillerød. The position is a newly established position due to organizational changes on this exciting growth journey. The organizational change will support focus areas in the QC Microbiology team.

You will be reporting into the manager of Microbiology and be a member of the QC management team.

Your primary tasks will be but not limited to:

  • Provide leadership and drive development of your team
  • Set direction, motivate the team, and prioritize tasks
  • Manage a growing team and ensure the right competencies in the team
  • Ensure that we deliver in accordance with our agreements with our customers
  • Ensure alignment with your peers across QC and build an efficient team
  • Challenge status quo and drive a continues improvement culture
  • Ensure the right quality level and cGMP compliance
  • Proactively secure a healthy work environment with a safety-first culture

The position requires a Team Leader/Associate Manager with experience in both people management and the technical areas of a QC department. You are not expected to be an expert in each area, but you must be able to act as a sparring partner for your team on the various subjects.

You meet and greet people with a smile and have a can-do attitude, and work with a humility and respect for the people around you. You have a pragmatic approach and look for solutions with an open and communicative approach, where you listen to understand. It is expected that you hold an academic degree within Pharma, engineering, etc. with experience from biotech or pharmaceutical industry. You have interest and knowledge of GMP and understands the requirements in a cGMP QC laboratory. You have excellent verbal and write English communication skills as English is our corporate language.
