Student programmer at the Drone center
SDU UAS Center, part of Maersk Mc-Kinney Moller Institute, invites applications for 2 or more open positions as student programmer to support our portfolio of ongoing and future research projects within drones. Weekly working hours are 14 in average.
Employment can take place as soon as possible.
Work area Your primary job will be to provide practical technical support to several of the UAS Center projects and activities. Tasks can include, but are not limited to:
• Drone building and maintenance tasks
• Assisting the researchers, lecturers, lab manager, and engineers with technical tasks of various nature
• Minor software development tasks
• Image processing tasks
• Electronic and mechanical assemblies
• Maintenance of UAS center lab facilities, drones, and equipment
• Data management tasks (upload and organization of photos and other data collected with drones)
• Support for events and outreach activities
• Support for educational activities
• Contributions to technical documentation, manuals, and risk assessments.
You do not have to be an expert in the above-listed tasks – we hope to find candidates with strong teamworking skills that have a basic understanding and strong curiosity and will to learn new tasks and skills.
We expect The ideal candidates are technical students, with strong interests in robotics and drones. We particularly encourage applicants from relevant engineering disciplines to apply. Other candidates with relevant experience and background will also be considered.
Some keywords could be:
• Robotics, electronics, software, or mechanical engineering student at SDU Faculty of Engineering
• Experience with drones, radio-controlled vehicles, robotics, or mechatronics systems is a plus but not a requirement
• Experience with composite materials fabrication
• Workshop skills and experience (soldering, mechanical assembly, rapid prototyping)
• Good IT skills, and programming experience
• Dependability, flexibility, and teamwork skills
• Safety awareness – you will be working with safety-critical systems and components
• A passion for robots and drone technology.
The working place is SDU Campus Odense and SDU Drone Test Center at HCA Airport. A valid driver’s license (B) is required.
Applicants must be enrolled as students at SDU to be considered.
