Your new role
We are looking for an experienced Site Reliability Engineer to take our observability capabilities to the next level. In this role, you will especially be responsible for enhancing the observability of our SaaS applications in AWS. Your expertise will play a crucial role in maintaining the reliability and efficiency of our systems.
Responsibilities:
- Implement monitoring and alarms in our AWS production setup, as well as fine-tune the current setup.
- Collaborate with development teams and customer support on future focus areas.
- Own and drive the way for our observability track and guide our dev teams on best practices.
Your background
We expect that you will have a solid foundation in computer science and the following;
Need to have skills:
- SaaS Application Observability: Demonstrated expertise in enhancing the observability of SaaS applications, with a strong understanding of observability principles, tools, and best practices.
- Observability Tool Stack: Hands-on experience with observability tools, including but not limited to AWS CloudWatch, Open Telemetry, and Elastic stack ELK.
- Application Performance Monitoring (APM): Experience with APM tools and practices to analyze and improve the performance of SaaS applications.
Nice to have skills:
- Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Proficiency in implementing infrastructure health checks as code, automating observability processes, and ensuring infrastructure is managed as code.
- Cloud Infrastructure Expertise: Familiarity with AWS cloud services, architectures, and best practices, beyond observability, would be advantageous.
- Scripting and Automation: Knowledge of scripting languages (e.g., PowerShell, Python, Bash) and experience in automating observability and monitoring tasks.
- Stakeholder Management: We have a lot of development teams with significant responsibility, so clean communication and knowledge on driving large cross-team projects are important.
