Procurement Lawyer
COWI A/S
We are expanding our legal capabilities in Buildings and Industry in Denmark. Therefore, we are looking for a Procurement Lawyer to join our Project Management Consultancy in Lyngby or in Aarhus.
Create the solutions that will enable a better tomorrow.
You will join a team of 20 legal colleagues across COWI working in close collaboration to assist our engineers, architects, and other technical colleagues in providing interdisciplinary and holistic legal advice on some of Denmark's largest construction projects. We are thrilled to have contributed to schools and teaching facilities of tomorrow, innovative wastewater treatment plants, state of the art hospitals, data centres, complex production sites and significant projects within transportation and railroads.
Your key responsibilities will be:
- Preparing and handling tenders for various consultancy and construction services, e.g. design and build contracts, turnkey contracts, as well as framework agreements, with the preparation of tender strategies, tender terms, contracts, various collaboration models with contractors/consultants etc., in close dialogue with project managers and clients.
- General professional sparring with and advising colleagues as well as ensuring knowledge sharing regarding procurement law, construction- and contract law, and technical advice, e.g., through teaching.
- Contract management and or Procurement management for larger Danish industrial and pharmaceutical clients - participating as a part of the client's team in leading the procurement strategy, drafting contracts with Danish/foreign parties, handling claims from contractors and consultants, facilitating and conducting negotiations, etc.
- Development of our client consultancy services at the intersection of technical and legal advice.
We view this job as a full-time position (37 hours per week). But if you’re looking for more flexibility to balance your life, we’d be happy to discuss the possibility of reduced work hours in this role.
Your skills. Our team. Together we design the future.
The first step to success in this role is that you are eager to collaborate with the people around you, whether they are colleagues, partners or customers. Developing ties with others is something you do by acting respectfully and delivering on your promises. And you never get set in your ways but keep exploring new insights and ways to improve.
On top of that, you will have:
- A background as cand.jur. or cand.merc.jur.
- Experience in procurement law and construction law, including experience with drafting tender strategy, tender documents, and contracts.
- Professional proficiency in Danish and English – written and spoken.
