We are currently looking for a Student Analyst to join our team in Copenhagen.

The Team and the Position
As our Student Analyst you will help conceptualize, develop, and execute investments in large-scale energy hubs projects globally and across a broad range of asset classes, including offshore wind, transmission, Power-to-X, and energy storage.

Energy hubs will be the next-generation energy infrastructure assets; a critical tool in reaching ambitious global decarbonization targets and delivering cost-efficient deployment and integration of large-scale renewable energy. Energy islands, or energy hubs, are multifunctional energy infrastructure projects, involving large-scale renewable energy production and power conversion technologies. Copenhagen Energy Islands (CEI) is responsible for developing and structuring these projects.

You will be working closely together with a highly experienced investment team in a high paced, dynamic environment. CEI and CIP will constantly seek to challenge and inspire you, while focusing on your learning and personal development. Top performing Analysts may receive an offer to join us full time upon graduation.

This will be a part-time position and the workload will vary depending on the number of projects you are working on, with flexibility expected from both sides. You will be given the opportunity to influence your daily routine and schedule time off during exam periods.

Key work areas include:

  • Financial modelling, valuation, and structuring of investments
  • Market analysis and due diligence of new investment opportunities
  • Preparation of presentations for external meetings, partner meetings, and investment committees
  • Working together with our partners and advisors

The Candidate
CIP is looking for 3rd year BSc or 1st-2nd year MSc students in Finance, Economics, Business, Engineering, or another relevant field. We look for the following in a candidate:

  • High academic performance and strong analytical skills
  • Good work ethic with a ‘can-do’ attitude
  • Interest in corporate finance, strategy, and M&A
  • Strong proficiency in MS Excel and PowerPoint
  • Someone who takes pride in their work and displays high attention to detail
  • Curious and creative mindset with an ability to work independently
  • Advanced communication skills with fluency in written and spoken English
  • Experience or knowledge within renewable energy, private equity, corporate finance, project finance, or similar is advantageous but not required
