We are looking for a Laboratory Animal Veterinarian to join our enthusiastic and experienced veterinary team at Novo Nordisk in a 2-year position. The position
As a Laboratory Animal Veterinarian at Novo Nordisk, your main responsibilities will include:

  • Overseeing animal health in the animal facilities and providing individual or group treatment according to best practices.
  • Providing guidance on project-related protocols involving experimental work and relevant regulations and guidelines within Laboratory Animal Science
  • Providing guidance on anesthesia, analgesia, pain management, sampling, postoperative care, and autopsies
  • Assisting and advising on surgical procedures and other complex procedures.
  • Contributing e to the formal and informal training of all staff working with animals.
  • Ensuring adherence to Novo Nordisk bioethical guidelines and advise on 3Rs (Replacement, Reduction, Refinement) and state-of-the-art animal welfare standards
  • Collaborating with other laboratory animal veterinarians on a 6 on-call rotation
  • Utilizing your excellent IT skills to ensure solid data collection

Qualifications
To be successful in this role, we are looking for a candidate with the following qualifications:

  • Danish authorization as a veterinarian
  • A Danish Course in Laboratory Animal Science (EU Function AD, formerly known as FELASA B)
  • Laboratory animal experience or postgraduate research experience in biomedical science preferred, but recent graduates will also be considered.
  • Excellent IT skills with a flair for data handling
  • Passion for animal welfare

On a personal level, you have excellent communication and cooperative skills. You are highly motivated and able to show initiative and work independently. Furthermore, you have ability to thrive in a changing environment with many different tasks.

You will be joining our enthusiastic and experienced veterinary team, supporting researchers, laboratory technicians, and animal technicians with expert specialized veterinary advice and assistance.
