Job Description
We are looking for a Senior Data Manager for Experian Nordics (Denmark and Norway). You will be responsible for data strategy and data management across the Nordics region, where Experian has operations in Denmark and Norway, with opportunities to expand into Sweden and Finland.
Key Responsibilities
- Creating and executing the data strategy for the Nordics region.
o Establishing and managing a network of existing and prospective data suppliers to deliver data which enhances Experian's competitive position at a sustainable cost.
o Initiating and leading key projects to deliver new data and changes in data management practices. This will involve developing and agreeing business-cases and working with the Operations function who will deliver technical changes.
o Operating data processes following relevant laws, regulations and Experian policies.
o Leading engagements with main clients to position Experian as the leading data provider in the Nordics market and improve the uses of data by Experian clients.
- Leading a team of colleagues (local and virtual) to support you with the above whilst establishing a high-performance culture for the Data Team.
All of the above will involve close working with peers in the Data Team, Head of Data Governance, Head of Data Insight and Innovation, Legal & Compliance, Sales and Operation functions in Experian.
Qualifications
Knowledge, Skills & Experience
- 5+ years experience of data management practices, particularly with financial and credit data.
- Strong knowledge of the credit sector and how credit and fraud functions use data to manage risk.
- Good understanding of Legal and Regulatory framework for data management in the Nordics and how this is applied in practice.
- Experience of building and implementing strategy.
- Experience leading teams, including setting a high performance culture.
- Strong financial management discipline: being able to create meaningful and robust budgets and business-cases and being able to manage within budget constraints.
- Exposure to and interest in technologies relevant to data management – for example Cloud, APIs, Data Warehousing and GenAI.
- Commercial acumen: thinks as a business-leader first and data-leader second.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, including presenting to large groups.
- Fluent in (written & oral) English and Norwegian and / or Danish.
Other considerations
Working remotely and Travel
Experian is an International business which supports remote working, on a hybrid model. However, an important part of your role is being present in our two key Nordics markets, so you will be asked to be willing and able to travel on a regular basis (at least monthly).
