The Job
As Head of Accounting, you will be anchored in Novo Holdings’ Finance & Operations (F&O) department in Copenhagen. You will be pivotal in driving the day-to-day operations and strategic direction of the Accounting services for the Novo Nordisk Foundation (NNF) and various NNF group entities through Service Line Agreements. Moreover, you will be responsible for establishing and driving the procurement function within Novo Holdings.

In the role you will:

  • Be responsible for the Accounting and Procurement functions of the Global Novo Holdings organisation
  • Have functional responsibility for accounting processes and systems, ensuring reliable, accurate and timely financial reporting to management
  • Drive efficient month end closing processes, including documentation of reconciliations, accruals, etc.
  • Prepare external financial reporting for Novo Holdings’ holding companies and NNF affiliates in a timely manner in compliance with applicable laws and standards
  • Support on the Annual Report processes of Novo Holdings and the Novo Nordisk Foundation
  • Ensure financial compliance including payment processes and internal controls
  • Safeguard strong knowledge management within areas of responsibility, i.e. financial management systems, Tax and VAT developments, consultancies, like-minded finance organisations, etc.
  • Establish and drive the procurement function in Novo Holdings
  • Support the establishment and maintenance of an Audit Committee
  • In general, be responsible for and lead process improvement, and proactively streamline procedures and reporting
  • Drive efforts within digitisation and automatization in accounting processes
  • Manage the geographical expansion of both the Novo Nordisk Foundation and Novo Holdings from an accounting perspective, i.e. India and China

In this role, you will be reporting to the Novo Holdings Executive Director, Head of Finance.

Requirements
We envision that you possess the following qualifications and that you have:

  • Preferably CMA or similar economic education
  • Experience from a similar position in an audit firm (services department) or finance function and minimum 8-10 years of experience with a majority of the tasks listed above
  • Preferably experience from an international environment across the broader finance domain
  • Experience with Microsoft Office, Microsoft D365BC, Continia products, and Readsoft Online is a plus
  • Proficiencies in Danish and English language oral and written
