Onshore Compliance Manager

Join us in this role where you’ll have the opportunity to work closely with our various commercial, technical, QHSE, and stakeholder teams to oversee compliance of onshore wind, solar, and battery-related federal, state, and local permits and approvals, as well as best practices during construction and operational activities. Your work will include managing and supporting project-specific compliance managers.

Welcome to Permitting, Environmental and Marine Affairs
You’ll be part of the Permitting and Environmental Compliance team where you, together with your colleagues, will oversee permitting compliance success, identify potential environmental and social risks, and find inventive solutions to ensure our onshore energy projects are both commercially viable and have a net-positive impact on surrounding communities and biodiversity. As a team, we value working collaboratively together to achieve all key deliverables. We value each other’s opinions and feedback, which is necessary to advance the PEMA compliance team to be effective in the implementation and enforcement of regulatory and permitting conditions.

You’ll play an important role in:

  • ensuring compliance-related scope of work is achieved within each onshore project
  • overseeing and managing the development of environmental training modules across multiple onshore projects to ensure compliance to permitting conditions, regulations, and our processes and policies
  • supporting projects PEMA-compliance department in the preparation of corporate and project-specific plans, procedures, templates, and other related compliance deliverables, etc.
  • supporting projects in the development of project-specific environmental compliance training modules, training schedules, and training platforms
  • supporting projects in development and implementation of project-specific compliance submittals to agencies and other applicable groups
  • supporting Projects in their response to noncompliance issues and events, and proposing corrective actions.

To succeed in the role, you:

  • hold a bachelor’s or graduate degree or relevant experience in a related field from an accredited university
  • have 8-10 years of related experience in any onshore large-scale infrastructure projects and preferably experience working with technical teams, incl. engineering, construction, operations, in large projects
  • have experience successfully managing and leading compliance deliverables across multiple projects
  • possess in-depth knowledge of US regulations, solid understanding of the concerns of key decision-makers, policymakers, federal, and state authorities
  • are knowledgeable of various federal, state, and municipal regulations applicable to onshore wind, solar, and battery storage projects, preferably with knowledge of ISO 14001 EMS
  • have good working relationships with federal and state permitting and compliance background.
