Your New Team
You will be a part of European Energy UK Limited, consisting of 20 colleagues working principally from our office in Glasgow. You will also work closely with our HQ in Copenhagen, Denmark, specifically with the EPC Department and a wider network of electrical engineers.

Your New Role
As our new Electrical Power Engineer, you will deliver utility-scale solar (PV) projects in the UK. In due course, we expect delivery of both onshore wind, energy storage, and Power-to-X projects to form part of the UK portfolio.
The main function of the Electrical Power Engineer´s role will be to support the preparatory stages of the project, oversee the front-end engineering design (FEED), support construction teams, troubleshoot and oversee the commissioning of our electrical infrastructure, from Point Of Connection through sub- and transformer station to LV distribution networks.
You will work in closely with our project manager, construction & site manager, procurement, grid connection, design, and asset management teams to support and safeguard our projects.
Areas of Responsibilities
- Participate in the preparation of electrical design processes, specifications, control concepts, protection, and single-line diagrams;
- Detailed knowledge of PV plant architecture, system design, suppliers, and market standards;
- Managing the corporation with suppliers, technical advisors, and consultants to coordinate interfaces and final design;
- Competence in interpreting electrical studies such as load flow estimations, short-circuit studies, LV&MV Cable sizing and optimization calculations, LPS, system earthing, etc.;
- Support and implement commissioning and operational instructions documentation e.g., shutdown procedures; and briefing notes for owners and technical advisors.
- Supporting compliance processes and key certifications such as PAC, IAC and FAC, ION, EON and FON;
- Support our EPC targets of reducing capex by optimizing designs
Prerequisites to Progress in the Job
- Degree in Electrical Engineering, degree in STEM, or equivalent professional experience and/or certifications;
- Professional experience in electrical solar PV at commercial or utility scale;
- Good understanding of P28, G59/G99, and similar ENA recommendations and design/implementation of solutions to meet these requirements;
- Strong knowledge of relevant IEC / ISO / BS Standards including BS7671;
- Detailed knowledge of CDM, Electricity at Work Regulations 1989, site safety rules, DNO requirements, switching procedures;
- You are fluent in English, both verbally and in writing;
- You are willing to travel throughout the UK (primarily) and to our head office in Denmark (periodically);
- You have a valid UK driving license
