Would you like to provide scientific leadership in the field of Virology to support GMP manufacturing of clinical and/or commercial biopharmaceutical products?
And can you onboard new customers, give input on deviations and support investigations on material-related issues?
Then we hope you are our new virologist colleague in our newly created Material Science team!
Your New Role
You will have an important role as sparring partner with the various stakeholders in the organization and be the expert on material-related issues.
Your Primary tasks
- You will be scientifically responsible (SME) for onboarding new manufacturing materials in Material Science. This entails creation of risk assessment reports, evaluating viral, mycoplasma and prion contamination risks associated with a given material. Communication with key stakeholders on material origin and processing. Acquisition of adventitious agent knowledge and risks, as well as improvements, troubleshooting, and investigations in compliance with cGMP.
- Provide scientific input on contamination risks and biosafety level considerations associated with manufacturing cell lines and raw materials proposed in potential new product processes.
- Be the SME/project lead in collaboration with our Virology department when onboarding new raw materials.
- Ensure compliance with cGMP in deviations and change controls, as well as participate in audits and inspections.
- Drive continuous improvements of practice in collaboration with management.

- Master or Ph.D. within virology, material science, chemistry, chemical engineering or similar
- Good communication skills and fluency in English
- You naturally take leadership for projects and will ensure project team understanding of tasks, timely completion and follow up

The Material Science team is a newly created team. From October 2024 the team is started by centralizing Subject Matter Experts from different areas of specialty. This creates a unique opportunity to be part of the scoping of the roles and responsibilities of the team.
