This is the position

Join our dynamic and close-knit merchandising team at Flying Tiger Copenhagen as a Merchandise Planner and play a pivotal role in shaping our product assortment and driving sales growth. As a Merchandise Planner, you will report directly to our Merchandise Director utilize your analytical skills to forecast demand, optimize inventory levels, and develop strategic merchandising plans to maximize profitability.

Job purpose

As the Merchandise Planner at Flying Tiger Copenhagen, you will be responsible for driving the open-to-buy process for individual categories, ensuring the consistent delivery of key performance indicators such as sales, margin, inventory, turnover, and GMROI. You will oversee the campaign build and assortment planning process, ensuring that campaign volumes consistently meet budgetary targets. Collaborating closely with the Category Director, you will manage financial governance and processes related to ordering, forecasting, inventory flow, markdowns, and pricing. Working in tandem with the Space Planning team, you will develop planograms that optimize assortment and range. Additionally, you will play a crucial role in developing, monitoring, and advising the Category Director and Merchandising Director on standardized weekly, monthly, and quarterly reporting, providing valuable insights to drive business growth and profitability.

Overall goals

  • Manage high forecast accuracy within open to buy forecasts.
  • Manage locked forecast process to ensure consistent transparency into expectations.
  • Own and manage all reporting for category team on financial performance and KPI’s.
  • Support Category Director and Merchandise Director on financial delivery of the business.
  • Own the open to buy process.

Your Qualifications

  • 4+ years of experience in merchandise planning role from a high-volume retailer
  • Expert in Microsoft Excel advanced analytics functions: formulas, pivots, macros, etc.
  • Analytically savvy and insatiable about data.
  • Fantastic communicator and delegator with a high acumen for stakeholder management.
