Indirect Tax Specialist

Your New Team
You will be part of our in-house tax department having the overall responsibility of European Energy’s global direct and indirect tax compliance and tax planning. We consist of 10 employees representing different skills and duties. We manage tax compliance and reporting, tax planning, M&A tax, transfer pricing, and support on VAT and duties.

You will be part of a committed and motivated team where knowledge sharing and open dialogues describe the very core of our collaboration. We value collaboration and a sense of shared and individual responsibilities, and we have a flat hierarchy with an open and honest dialogue.

Your New Role
As our new Indirect Tax Specialist, you will work from our HQ in Søborg, Copenhagen. You will be an essential part of driving the indirect tax agenda in our organization globally. Your reference will be the Head of Tax.

You will have various interfaces with the other teams in the business, have numerous opportunities to define your role, and grow as a professional.

Scope of Work

  • Work closely with colleagues from other departments to implement strong procedures to ensure a robust compliance level on VAT and customs duties on day-to-day transactions and projects, including M&A.
  • Act as an internal advisor on indirect tax matters.
  • Ensure proper integration of indirect tax input into our ERP system (Navision/Business Central)
  • Support requests from tax authorities and manage indirect tax audits in collaboration with local colleagues and tax advisors.
  • Analyze legislative developments within the indirect tax area and determine the impact on European Energy Group.

Prerequisites to Succeed in the Job

  • You have a Bachelor´s or Master´s in Tax, Accounting, Law, or Economics
  • You have 5+ years of experience with indirect tax from an in-house tax department, an audit firm, or the tax authorities
  • You have experience with ERP systems and the relation with indirect taxes e.g. the complexity of transaction flows, and master data structure
  • You are fully proficient in English, Danish is an advantage.
  • You are a skilled user of MS Office
  • You have excellent interpersonal and communication skills
