Therefore, we are currently looking for an experienced Software Test Engineer/Test Lead to become part of this journey and contribute to our overall purpose – securing people through advanced technology.

Team and Role
As a Software Test Engineer at Terma, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the quality and reliability of our advanced software solutions. You will be part of the Test Management Team, working with experienced testers and test leads within Multi Domain Systems such as Land, Air, Space, and Cyberspace. Occasionally, you will work on the maturation of methods, tools, and processes, and participate in test activities to ensure project delivery.

In this role, you will collaborate closely with other team members to develop and execute test plans, estimate testing efforts, and create detailed test procedures and automated tests. Your work will involve both manual testing and the creation of automated tests to ensure thorough coverage and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities
Your responsibilities as Software Test Engineer/Test Lead will cover leading and coordinating a wide range of testing activities to ensure the quality and reliability of our software solutions:

  • Test Planning: Develop comprehensive test plans that outline the scope, objectives, resources, schedule, and deliverables of the testing activities.
  • Test Estimation: Estimate the time and effort required for testing tasks, ensuring that project timelines and resources are adequately planned.
  • Developing Test Procedures: Create detailed test procedures and test cases based on system requirements and design specifications.
  • Contributing to a Test Community of Practice: Engage with other test enthusiasts to share knowledge, best practices, and continuously improve testing methodologies and processes.
  • Continuously Improving Ways of Working: Participate in process improvement initiatives to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of testing activities.

You have a real passion for testing and a flair for test management is essential. Enthusiasm for quality in software development and the desire to impact software that makes the world a safer place while securing people through advanced technology is crucial.

Qualifications
We are looking for a candidate with solid experience in testing activities in software development, with an understanding of what to test, where, and when, and how tools can support this. Documented knowledge of testing with agile development methods (Scrum) as well as more project-oriented processes is essential, along with an understanding of the values created by Continuous Integration and Delivery. A knowledge of software testing principles combined with certification in ISTQB, TMAP, or similar is required.

Additionally, we expect you to be passionate about your work, actively follow through on tasks, and thrive in a complex and highly specialized environment. You should be capable of devising ways to improve processes, supporting the team, and taking pride in communicating and acting proactively with teammates and stakeholders. Strong organizational skills and excellent articulation in writing and speaking, at a minimum in English, preferably also in Danish, are essential.

Preferred qualifications include:

  • Solid experience with leading and planning test activities in software development including test automation
  • Understanding of agile development methods (Scrum) and project-oriented processes.
  • Certification in software testing principles (ISTQB, TMAP, or similar).
  • Ability to work in a complex, specialized environment.
  • Strong communication skills in English and preferably Danish.
  • Ability to improve processes and support team efforts proactively​​​​​​​​​​​​​​
