In Valmet’s Pulp & Energy business line we serve a wide variety of customers around the world with e.g. complete pulp mills, heat and power generation solutions and environmental protection systems.

Our Global Quality Assurance team ensures that our project delivery meets the quality requirements to satisfy the customer, authorities, and our own high standards.

We are now looking for a Quality Assurance Manager, in Sweden,to work with both capital and rebuild projects.

In this position you report to the Senior Manager, Global Quality Assurance and you will act as a team leader for the Swedish Quality Assurance team. Therefore, you can be based in Sundsvall, Gothenburg, or Karlstad.

As Quality Assurance Manager, your main tasks include:

  • defining and accepting quality requirements
  • ensure that products fulfill the applicable requirements through implementation of QA process and controlling of non-conforming products
  • adjusting and communicating the quality related requirements to project parties such as engineering, procurement, manufacturing and site assembly, and also to customer.
  • proactively detecting and mitigating possible problems or additional requirements in all project phases
  • lead major product nonconformity handling for example by asking for specialist statements, coming up with solutions and getting approvals when needed.
  • Follow-up of standards and legislations and study of legislations/authority requirements in new market areas
  • participate in quality assurance process development

With your quality expertise you have a real possibility to influence project success and financial end results. With a proactive working style and the ability to look at the project over different disciplines you will be a valued partner in the project team. You will have a lot of cooperation across the organization globally, as well as contacts with customers, suppliers and authorities in different countries.

You will actively participate in the continuous development on quality assurance practices and improving the quality maturity in the Project organization and Technology units. You are eager to act as task force incase there is urgent quality issues in our delivery projects.

To be successful in this position we believe that you have a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a suitable field. That you have more than ten years of experience in engineering, manufacturing and/or inspections of machinery and pressure equipment. You have also experience in quality assurance in manufacturing or project business, and knowledge of Machinery and Pressure Equipment Directives. NDT (non-destructive testing) and welding knowledge are strongly appreciated. Management and leadership skills are also essential in this position.

Your personal characteristics include good communication skills, initiative thinking and flexibility. You should have good management and leadership skills and you can co-operate well in a multi-cultural environment. Your English is fluent, both written and spoken. You should also be able to travel internationally.
