Role
The Responsible Level 3 at Terma is a critical position within the Quality Assurance department, specifically focused on Non-Destructive Inspection (NDI) processes, including Ultrasonic Testing (UT), Radiographic Testing (RT), and/or Penetrant Testing (PT). This role serves as the authority on NDI activities, ensuring that all operations adhere to the highest standards of quality, safety, and regulatory compliance. As the Responsible Level 3, you will play a pivotal role in upholding Terma’s reputation for excellence in the aerospace and defence sectors by ensuring that our NDI practices meet or exceed industry benchmarks and customer expectations.
Key Responsibilities
Certification and Training Management (Compliant to NAS410)
- Develop and manage a comprehensive certification and training process for NDI personnel. Ensure all certifications align with industry standards, and lead efforts to maintain a highly skilled and compliant workforce.
Regulatory and Customer Compliance
- Guarantee strict adherence to both regulatory and customer requirements. Manage requirement changes in collaboration with other NDI Level 3’s and engage with customers and suppliers for qualifications, technical consultations, and requirement clarifications.
Quality Assurance Leadership
- Lead and oversee all NDI operations, ensuring compliance with the highest standards of quality. Implement quality control measures, manage audits, and maintain certifications. Hold final authority in interpreting NDI test results and ensuring the accuracy and reliability of our processes.
Innovation and Improvements
- Stay ahead of technological advancements in NDI by leading efforts to implement new technologies and upgrade equipment. Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance the efficiency, accuracy, and safety of NDI processes.
Qualifications
Certification in NDI Techniques
- NDI Level 3 certification in at least one of the following techniques: UT, RT, and/or PT from recognized professional bodies like NAS410, EN4179, or an equivalent standard.
Additional Assets
Extensive NDI Experience
- A minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in Non-Destructive Inspection (NDI), particularly in roles that involve high levels of responsibility and decision-making authority. Ideally, your experience should include a deep understanding of NDI processes, methodologies, and standards, particularly in the context of aerospace, defence, or other highly regulated industries.
Specialization in Composites Manufacturing
- Strong background in working with composite materials is essential. This includes a thorough understanding of the unique challenges associated with inspecting and ensuring the quality of composite structures. Experience in a composites manufacturing environment will be highly valued.
Leadership and Management
- Proven ability to lead and manage teams, particularly in high-stakes environments. You will need to inspire and guide NDI personnel, ensuring that everyone is aligned with the company’s quality and safety standards.
