We test innovative products and concepts
You will be based at our HQ in Humlebæk and join our Usability Engineering team. Together, we are 5 highly skilled engineering colleagues within the biomedical field, medicine & technology, as well as design and innovation. And we work with end-user research and usability testing of innovative products and concepts.
“We come into the office at least 4 times a week – simply because we enjoy working together. And we’re really good at planning our own time and looking into new initiatives,” explains Stine.
Plan and execute the usability engineering process in new product development
In this role, you will be working closely with R&D, Design, Product Management, System Engineering, and regulatory teams. Your aim is to ensure that the usability of our medical devices properly address user needs, patient safety, product performance, regulatory requirements, and commercial needs. In this set-up, you will be the main responsible for documentation and compliance with regulatory standards.
Moreover, you will serve as a usability project lead on assigned project teams, as well as an internal ad-hoc consultant for matters related to usability throughout the company.
Specifically, you will:
- Apply usability/human factor engineering processes throughout product development (e.g. ISO/IEC 62366, US FDA HF guidance, ANSI/AAMI HE75, ISO 14971)
- Plan and conduct early and late formative and summative usability tests, perform reports on data, and present results
- Facilitate and complete the use of error analyses
- Contribute to task analyses, cognitive walk-throughs, and other formative design and evaluation methods
- Provide empirically based recommendations based on usability standards, data, and best practices
Experience with usability testing/interviews
We are looking for a new colleague who enjoys collaboration but at the same time can plan their own time. The job requires great analytical skills with the vast amounts of use test data, human skills to connect with users with intimate healthcare needs, and communication skills to deliver your findings to our innovation projects.
Finally, we imagine that you:
- Hold a master’s degree in engineering, like Biomedical Engineering, Human Factors Engineering, Ergonomics, Usability Engineering, Interaction Design, Design & Innovation, Engineering Psychology or other relevant disciplines
- Have a good understanding of ISO 14971 (Risk Management) requirements, FDA Guidance, and IEC 62366
- Have some years of hands-on usability testing/interview experience, including the creation of protocols, moderator scripts, and usability reports
- Have experience with planning and moderating usability testing
- Might have experience working with/ liaising with external research consultants
- Are able to work with requirement management, data acquisition, and analysis
