About the position
In the position as New Product Introduction (NPI) Sourcing Manager, you will be asked to apply and develop your current sourcing and procurement skills by taking on key responsibility in sourcing for new technologies. Furthermore, you will be entrusted with early development of suppliers, and making sure we find partners that can fulfill compliance requirements, mass production capabilities and support with comprehensive design for manufacturing skills.

A significant portion of your time will be committed to direct cooperation with the engineers in our R&D project teams. This collaboration with R&D is vital, as it ensures that our sourcing strategies are aligned with the latest technological advancements and innovative designs. By working closely with R&D, you will support facilitate the development of cutting-edge products, ensuring they are manufacturable and meet market demands.

3shape has a dynamic and international working environment, with a constant focus on driving impact for our development of new products and our daily business. You will be part of the Global Procurement team anchored within the Production, Supply Chain & Quality area and join a team of 6 engaged Category Managers. You will be supported by and coordinate tasks for 2 NPI buyers, as well as our Purchase team located in Poland

Your responsibilities:

  • Support rapid development in new R&D projects where key technologies and components are not supported by existing suppliers.
  • Participate in scouting and developing suppliers of new technologies
  • Be the point person between R&D and Category Managers, to ensure timely and proper information exchange and engagement.
  • Together with our legal team assure that all commercial agreements are in place in due time.
  • Support our category managers in sourcing and cost saving activities
  • Secure that samples, materials, supplies etc. are purchased from commercially selected partners

Your skills:

  • Ideally you hold a relevant degree from a business school, university (economics), engineering and have 2+ years of experience from a similar position – alternatively you have previously worked closely with R&D and Technical production
  • Ability to handle many different suppliers and internal stakeholders in parallel. Communication skills are therefore very important.
  • Experience working with product development – with a good technical and commercial mindset.
  • Curious, data driven and enjoy working with structuring, analyzing, and presenting data in an easily understandable manner to senior administrators
  • Ability to work effectively and in a time-sensitive situation, when deadlines are tight, and with a positive hands-on approach when needed
