Power Electronics Engineer (m/f/d)

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Hardware Engineer / Power electronics Engineer, to support the design, development, integration and maintenance of systems for space industry. In this role, you will be a key contributor to support the troubleshooting and repair of complex electronic hardware. Your power electronics background enables the team to quickly rework prototype revisions and ideally also support the team with debugging the HW design.

Responsibilities
Your tasks will typically include but are not limited to:

  • Promptly implement related circuit workarounds in order to continue with prototyping.
  • Peer review for layout, schematics, HW components analysis
  • Design for new HW systems
  • Continuous process, quality- and safety-improvements together with QM

Additional responsibilities may include:

  • Maintain the inventory database for the HW units
  • Root cause analyses on the PCB layer and PCB-A (find HW errors)
  • Proposing low-level solutions for HW faults
  • Compliance with IPC certification

Qualifications & Competencies
Applicants should have a university degree in Electronic Engineering or similar. Degrees in Aerospace Engineering, Mechatronics, Computer Science or Mathematics/Physics may also be suitable provided solid capabilities can be demonstrated.

Solid English communication skills, min. B2

Additional you should prove:

  • Several years of related experience in HW SMD/THT soldering and prototyping of complex PCBs
  • Theoretical electronics background, ideally power electronics (mostly analogue, digital)
  • Experience with using measurement equipment (e.g. oscilloscope, DMM, etc).

Competences:

  • Soldering and Rework Proficiency: skilled in SMD and through-hole soldering and hardware modifications per IPC standards.
  • Failure Analysis and Debug: strong root cause identification skills using test equipment.
  • Hardware Modification and Repair: experience with modifying electronic hardware including jumping wires, trace cuts and components replacement.
  • Test Equipment Operation: proficient with oscilloscopes, multimeters, function generators and power supplies.
  • Schematics & PCB Interpretation: fluent in reading and interpreting complex circuit diagrams, PCB layouts and assembly drawings.
  • Curious and eager to explore improvements in part organization and database structure.
  • Independent and confident in working autonomously.

Experience:

  • Several years of related experience in HW SMD/THT soldering and prototyping of complex PCBs
  • Theoretical electronics background, ideally power electronics (mostly analogue, digital)
  • Experience with using measurement equipment (e.g. oscilloscope, DMM, etc).

Capabilities:

  • IPC certification e.g. IPC-A-610 or IPC-7711/7721
  • PCB design, preferably in Altium Designer
  • Experience with Microsoft Visio
  • Experience with HW testing (e.g. bring-up and functional tests) and system testing

This is a full-time position, located at our office in Brasov, Romania, starting ASAP.
