Public Cloud Services Platform Engineering Lead

Public Cloud Services design, build and support public Cloud provider platforms to facilitate the hosting of Danske Bank applications on external Cloud providers. E.g. Amazon Web Services.
We are looking for a Public Cloud Services Platform Engineering Lead to join our team (in Lithuania or Denmark) of 10 engineers, located in Vilnius, Lithuania. In this role, you will lead the design, build, and support of platforms on major public cloud providers such as AWS and Microsoft Azure, facilitating the hosting of Danske Bank applications.

As the Team Lead, you will be responsible for overseeing the adoption and operation of cutting-edge cloud technologies, ensuring effective collaboration and communication within the team. We are seeking a candidate with excellent verbal and written communication skills, strong organizational abilities, and a collaborative and open approach to teamwork. The ideal candidate should be passionate about continuous learning, value diversity, and have experience in cloud technologies, preferably AWS or Azure.

You will:

  • Manage a team of highly skilled engineers who are building the core infrastructure of the public cloud Platforms for both AWS and Microsoft Azure
  • Drive high levels of automation to create a self-service platform and reduce toil
  • Mentor and guide the engineers with a focus on technical excellence, wellbeing and professional growth, also manage and prioritise the workload for engineers
  • Work alongside the Platform Architecture and Security engineering team to Develop secure, efficient, scalable and maintainable solutions based on AWS and Microsoft Azure services
  • Maintain and develop CI/CD pipelines to automate the cloud infrastructure provisioning, build reusable building blocks and blueprints for infrastructure components for the developer community
  • Collaborate with Application Developers, the Generative AI team, the Data platforms team, the Developer experience tribe
  • Implement all relevant bank controls to ensure Danske Bank’s resiliency policies are met

About you:

  • 10+ years of experience in Software Engineering in general and experience with public cloud infrastructure
  • Higher education in Computer Science or related field would be an advantage
  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code and Cloud knowledge (Azure)
  • Experience with any of the following programming languages and frameworks: Python, TypeScript/JavaScript, C#, .net core and NodeJS
  • Containerization using Kubernetes and Docker
  • Hands-on experience with CI/CD tools and processes
  • Upped-Intermediate English skills, both written and spoken
  • Knowledge and experience with messaging systems (like RabbitMQ)

This position can be located both in Lithuania and Denmark. If you are hired in Lithuania, the applicable salary range will be 5520 to 8280 EUR monthly (based on your competencies relevant for the job).
