Group Energy Manager

We are seeking a strategic, experienced and hands-on Group Energy Manager to lead Citycon energy management work across our portfolio of shopping centres. You will play a pivotal role in optimizing Citycon energy management and efficiency, reducing environmental impact, and advancing our sustainability goals across the Nordic region.
In this role, you will be responsible for developing and implementing a comprehensive energy strategy that aligns with Citycon company’s vision for sustainability and long-term value creation. Your expertise will drive initiatives in energy efficiency, energy management, energy sources, and resource optimization across Citycon existing properties. You will work closely with operations teams, and external partners to ensure the successful delivery of Citycon energy and sustainability strategies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement a group-wide energy management strategy aligned with sustainability targets and financial objectives. Support in creating and implementing also asset specific energy management strategies together with centre management teams.
- Lead energy audits and benchmarking exercises across the portfolio to identify opportunities for efficiency improvements and cost savings.
- Oversee energy performance initiatives, including smart building technologies, energy monitoring systems, and renewable energy solutions.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate energy-efficient practices in the development, operation, and refurbishment of shopping centres.
- Ensure compliance with relevant energy regulations and industry standards, while actively monitoring trends and innovations in the energy sector.
- Establish and track KPIs related to energy usage, implementation of energy investments and services, carbon footprint reduction, and sustainability outcomes.
- Manage relationships with service providers, energy consultants, and technology vendors to drive performance and optimize energy procurement strategies.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Proven experience in energy management, preferably within the real estate, retail, or property management sectors.
- Strong understanding of energy regulations and renewable energy technologies. Understanding the sustainability frameworks in the Nordic region is seen as a plus.
- Analytical and data-driven mindset with the ability to translate energy data into actionable insights.
- Hands-on capabilities to support the local centre management teams to support with energy efficiency measures.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills to influence decision-making across different levels of the organization.
- Understanding (some of the) following topics well is an advantage: energy hedging, sustainable PPAs, batteries, solar energy, BMS systems, AI within our industry
