We are looking for a R&D Senior Scientist for our antibody & chemistry development team within Assay and Algorithm technology department which is part of Pathology R&D in our Diagnostics and Genomics Group.

We want to strengthen our capacity and competences to ensure that we can maintain an efficient throughput of new antibodies but also give us the bandwidth to secure continuous improvements to our design and develop process. You will join a highly experienced development team with the responsibility for securing that we continuously deliver best in class novel reagents for our pathology solutions.

Our departments main competences are within molecular pathology, chemistry, algorithm development and design and early development of antibodies and consists of 6 academics, one manager, and 7 laboratory technicians with the collective goal of securing that our reagents and future instruments will deliver best in class results for patients.

Your responsibilities:
You will be working within areas that are on the border between Chemistry and Biology. Your specific focus area will be design and development of novel assay components that support the required assay sensitivity, specificity, and overall solution robustness to deliver trusted results. Development of quality control methods and efficient production processes as well as chemical support of Agilent’s existing solutions

  • Develop novel assay components
  • Develop solid synthesis processes and QC methods
  • Analyze products and components to secure quality
  • Support to production and other functions as subject matter expert
  • Collaboration in project team as subject matter expert
  • Write relevant development documentation, e.g. feasibility reports
  • Plan test activities in close collaboration with the team
  • Secure input for IP submissions
  • Technology scouting

Qualifications
Required qualifications:

  • Experience with chemical synthesis
  • Ph.D. degree in Chemistry, biochemistry, or other related science
  • Proficiency in written and spoken English
  • Team oriented as well as independent working
  • Solid documentation skills

Preferred qualifications:

  • Industrial and/or post-doctoral experience in related research
  • Experience with Peptide chemistry
  • Experience with Color chemistry
  • Experience with Conjugation of proteins
  • Experience with immunohistochemistry
  • Experience with LC/MS and other analytical methods
  • Experience with biosensor quantification and/or kinetic measure of antibodies (e.g. BLI technology, Octet)
  • Experience in an academic, pharmaceutical, or biotechnology setting is desirable
