Job Description
We are seeking an ambitious and outcome-driven Backend Engineer to join our team. You will play a key role in our organization, driving the development, maintenance, and expansion of our suite of products. Your contributions will have a direct impact on our growth, delivering both technical excellence and improved customer experiences across our platforms. You'll directly help us execute our vision.

You will play a key role in our organization, developing and maintaining the backend of our image ecommerce operations, developing efficient image processing pipelines and Improving our search functionality for better user experiences. As part of our team, you won’t just be coding; you’ll be an integral part of the strategic decisions that affect our roadmap.

Responsibilities

• Work collaboratively with the Product Development Team to create value for our customers.
• Architect and develop new features while enhancing and refactoring existing ones.
• Embrace iterative methodologies, both in our development process and how you write your code.
• Have strong backend skills and knowledge with a readiness to contribute to frontend tasks when required.
• You will undertake tasks such as developing JSON APIs for customers and apps, aggregating data, and establishing integrations with external services.
• Have a focus on ensuring quality and security standards.
• Have experience with ElasticSearch and Cloud technologies; AWS is highly desirable.
• Experience with Laravel is also a plus
• Actively participate in code reviews, providing constructive feedback to fellow developers.
• Proactively monitor and optimize the performance of our online applications and systems.
• Stay informed about emerging technologies, tools, and industry trends to suggest and implement practical enhancements as needed.

Our API is written in PHP 8 and we run continuous integration via AWS. We break some parts of our product into smaller services; these are most often written in Python 3 or TypeScript

Your Qualifications

• Proficiency in Object-Oriented Programming
• Experience working with SQL Databases for data-driven applications.
• Strong problem-solving skills and an ability to troubleshoot complex technical challenges.
• A growth-oriented mindset, with a proven ability to work proactively and independently to solve challenges.
• Good communication skills in English, with the ability to work effectively in a collaborative, international team environment.
