Power Solutions & Vestas Quality > Applications, Controls & Electrical > Yaw, Lubrication & Hydraulics

You will be part of the Yaw, Lubrication & Hydraulics development team in the Control Hardware organization. This position will give you a solid overview of how the different parts of the turbine work together. You will gain a broad knowledge of the different functions of and technical areas of the turbine and be involved in several design activities across the turbine. You will also be involved in the development and integration of innovative solutions that will keep Vestas as the leader in sustainable energy solutions.

Responsibilities
As an Engineer within Power Conversion, your responsibilities will be:

  • Selection, specification, and validation of power components (e.g. MOSFET, Diodes, capacitors, inductors, contactors, fuses, Contactors, disconnects etc.)
  • Support testing requirements and validation among test planning, execution, and statistical evaluation.
  • Deep understanding of the requirements and translating them into suitable solutions.
  • Model and simulate the system to evaluate requirements and design concepts.
  • Providing inputs for DFMEA assessment and fault analysis.
  • Implementing protection circuits for VFDs.

Qualifications

  • Hold a bachelor’s or M.sc degree in electrical engineering.
  • Good knowledge with simulation tools such as MATLAB and SPICE.
  • Working knowledge of Familiarity with IEC, UL, and CSA regulatory standards.
  • Working knowledge of power electronics, power distribution and control systems
  • Experience in control of power electronics (PID controls and control methods)
