Vestas Global Procurement is an award winning best in class Procurement function within the Worlds leading OEM for sustainable Energy Solutions. We are overall responsible for all Procurement activities within Vestas Wind System A/S, including co-leading cross-functional Module teams, negotiations, Value creation initiatives, Module strategy development and implementation and Supplier Account Management. The Direct Materials procurement department is globally responsible for procurement of all direct materials for our global product portfolio
Responsibilities
- Lead the Gearbox procurement team as part of the Powertrain module with in total 8 colleagues. You will be responsible for sourcing Vestas' global demand of Gearbox components. We are part of a Global Procurement Department and the team is based in Denmark, China, India and Portugal. Together with your colleagues, you will lead an ambitious team, where your effort and ability to create results makes a difference and has a direct business impact
- Be an active part of our extended leadership team and represent this towards internal and external stakeholders
- Lead and manage cost-out and efficiency improvement initiatives in a continuous manner in a cross functional team while maintaining or improving product quality and supplier service levels
- Facilitate collaboration between internal and external stakeholders
- Ensure mature preparation and lead the negotiations for the gearbox spend that accounts to more than 600 Mio€ annually
- Lead the cross functional commodity team together with your counterpart in R&D and develop and deploy a strategy that supports the overall Vestas strategy, encompassing the needs of all functions
- Take supplier relationship management to the next level, unlocking full value chain optimization opportunities in collaboration with suppliers and partners
Qualifications
- MSc or equivalent with a relevant area of study, e.g., business, economics, mechanical engineering, etc.
- Successful +5 year track-record within Procurement, Finance or Project Management
- Experience with managing larger projects or negotiations towards senior stakeholders
- Excellent project management skills
- Strong analytical skills
- Strong people leadership skills
- Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
