Join us as our new Recovery Scientist, in Product and Process Development, Novonesis, Bagsværd
In Product and Process Development we have the responsibility to make the products and processes for our worldwide production sites. You will be in a cross-functional agile team (with members of fermentation, recovery and formulation departments) with a primary focus to create new BioSolutions that excite our customers, including enzymes and advanced proteins.

To succeed you will combine insights of enzyme/protein processing with process knowledge, and together with your agile team you will select the optimal solutions both for customer value and product quality.

You will plan, support and follow up on your project batches and ensure we will identify how to go from lab scale to production scale. This will require great collaboration skills, and a good understanding of the science needed to achieve what excites our customers. Furthermore, you will have a departmental responsibility to further strengthen our protein knowledge to build on our development platform in our Bagsværd facility.

Welcome to Novonesis Development
The department has a large fermentation and recovery pilot facility located in Bagsværd, Copenhagen. The products handled by the department include a large variety of industrial enzymes, e.g. for Household Care, Biofuel and Food & Feed applications. For the right candidate, the job can potentially be a solid step towards a science based future career within project and/or line management.

To keep meeting our business targets in a dynamic environment, people development is a focus area in the daily work for all employees as well as continuous improvement of the way we work. Working in an agile team setup, interaction with other departments is very strong, using both shared projects and actual job rotations to other departments/functions to foster cooperation and business understanding.

In this role you’ll make an impact by:

• Driving the planning, execution, and documentation for development projects, as key member of agile project teams
• Enabling strong cross-functional networking, in teams such as R&D, IP, supply operations, quality, regulatory, and sales & marketing – to ensure success
• Working independently as well as taking the responsibility as project leader and as a team player, contributing to a high performing cross-functional Agile Team
• Improving the way we work, for example by introducing new instruments or analytical methods, and by taking advantage of digitalization and automation

To succeed you need to hold:

• A MSc degree in chemical engineering, biochemical engineering or similar, preferentially combined with a PhD.
• Relevant industrial experience in process development, scale up, and process tech is an advantage
• Experience with data driven decision making and familiar with programming language such as Python/Matlab/R
• Thorough knowledge, understanding and passion about proteins and purification.

Location:
This job is in Bagsvaerd, Copenhagen, Denmark. In this job role, it will be a benefit to be mostly physically present in Bagsværd, but there is some flexibility to work partly from home.
