We offer

We are seeking a dedicated and driven Public Affairs Advisor to join our team. If you're looking for a dynamic and challenging career in the logistics and transportation industry, Maersk offers the perfect opportunity to grow your career while making a positive global impact.

As a Public Affairs Advisor, you’ll focus on key agendas, particularly in decarbonization and trade logistics policies across the European Union (EU) and international frameworks like the International Maritime Organization (IMO).

In this role, you’ll focus on shaping and navigating logistics policies and regulations in the EU and internationally, such as those within the IMO. You'll have the opportunity to contribute to Maersk’s mission to transform the logistics and transportation industry by influencing policies that impact the entire world.

This is an exciting opportunity where you will:

  • Support and manage reputation risk and crisis management with governments and key stakeholders.
  • Prepare and promote thought leadership on global challenges from our executive and leadership teams to EU governments and international public affairs stakeholders.
  • Engage in a collaborative and diverse workplace that values individual contributions to drive innovation and achieve excellence. At Maersk, we are proud of our diversity and consider it a genuine strength in building high-performing teams.

Key Responsibilities

As a Public Affairs Advisor, your primary goal will be to position Maersk as a constructive and influential stakeholder in the EU and IMO. You’ll build and maintain trusted communication channels with key stakeholders across governments, parliaments, central administrations, and trade associations.

Additional responsibilities include:

  • Monitoring and analyzing legislative proposals and advocating on key topics to align with Maersk’s strategic goals, especially within EU and IMO policymaking.
  • Building partnerships with governments, authorities, trade associations, and other key stakeholders.
  • Supporting and eventually leading public affairs campaigns across Europe.
  • Managing and preparing materials for executives’ high-level meetings and public engagements.
  • Representing Maersk at events, high-level visits, and other public affairs activities.

We Are Looking for
The ideal candidate will have:

  • A relevant educational background (e.g., political science, law, economics, international relations).
  • 2-4 years of experience in public affairs, ideally with knowledge of EU and/or UN policymaking processes.
  • Strong analytical and strategic skills and the ability to navigate complex policy landscapes.
  • Excellent communication skills, with agility and flexibility to manage high-level government interactions.
  • Experience in executive stakeholder management.
  • Fluency in English.

As a person, you are ambitious, proactive, and structured in your problem-solving. You demonstrate intellectual curiosity, resourcefulness, and resilience. You put the success of the team first and remain focused on delivering tangible results.
