Brief Description of position
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Commercial Director to join our team in the Philippines. This key role will be instrumental in driving our commercial strategy and business development initiatives in the region, expanding COP's presence in the Philippines and surrounding markets.
You will support initiatives including:
- Developing and implementing commercial strategies to grow COP's offshore wind portfolio in the Philippines
- Overseeing financial modeling and all relevant business case analysis for potential projects
- Overseeing budget and cost management for potential projects
- Supporting to secure offtake and other routes to market for potential projects
- Supporting project financing activities for potential projects in the Philippines
- Identifying and pursuing new business opportunities in the renewable energy sector
- Building and maintaining strong relationships with key stakeholders, including banks and other financial institutions, government officials, partners, and clients
- Supporting contract negotiations and managing complex commercial agreements
To succeed in this role, you:
- Have 10+ years of experience in the energy sector, with a focus on renewable energy
- Possess a proven track record in business development and commercial leadership roles
- Demonstrate a strong understanding of the Philippines energy market and regulatory environment
- Excel in negotiation and relationship-building
- Are a strategic thinker with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Are fluent in English and Filipino; knowledge of other local languages is a plus
- Have a willingness to travel domestically and internationally
