Imaging Scientist for Minerva Imaging

MINERVA IMAGING ApS

Join Minerva Imaging as a Senior Imaging Scientist and be part of pioneering breakthroughs in translational cancer research and drug development.
Minerva Imaging is seeking an enthusiastic Senior Imaging Scientist for our dynamic Imaging team. The team operates as a central core function across small and large animal pharmacology departments supporting studies from early target validation, selecting lead candidates, to ongoing therapeutic efficacy using various advanced imaging modalities. As a Senior Imaging Scientist, you will play a crucial role in our efforts to become an “Imaging centric” - the preferred partner for global pharma and biotech companies for translational imaging studies.

About the role
As a Senior Imaging Scientist at Minerva Imaging, you will be a key member of our highly interdisciplinary Imaging Department dedicated to accelerating translational drug development programs with molecular imaging. Your primary responsibility will be to manage and conduct preclinical imaging studies closely together with dedicated technicians and research scientists, ensuring proper setup and scientific output to answer our collaborators research questions. You will work with cutting-edge molecular imaging modalities like PET/SPECT/CT, MRI, ultrasound, optical and autoradiography in our new state-of-the-art facility where we continuously expand our capabilities.

The ideal candidate possesses solid practical experience with molecular imaging modalities, is curious, a dedicated team player, and thrives in a fast-paced environment. At Minerva Imaging, we believe in collective effort, and it's essential that you regardless of seniority are not afraid to roll up your sleeves and contribute hands-on to our work in the laboratory. We are ideally seeking a senior candidate, but more importantly, we value personality and practical experience—so if you are passionate and eager to grow, we encourage you to apply.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with research departments to plan and lead imaging activities in preclinical studies
  • Engage with external collaborators providing scientific guidance on scope and deliverables for their drug development programs
  • Independently develop, setup and test experimental PET/SPECT/CT protocols and methodologies for advanced animal models of cancer and/or cardiovascular disease
  • Operate, support and troubleshoot during image acquisition to ensure high-quality data
  • Analyse, report, review and interpret image data together with project team members
  • Train and educate technicians and junior scientists to support ongoing learning and development in the team
  • Maintain and expand expertise in PET/SPECT/CT and optical imaging theory
  • Actively develop strategies to expand image acquisition capabilities to provide new services reflecting growth in the radiopharmaceutical field and create marketing material

Your Experience and Skills:
To succeed in this role, you should have at least 3 years of experience in in vivo imaging studies, whether in academia or industry. Ideally, you consider yourself a senior scientist with a solid foundation in this field. Prior experience in a scientific role within the pharmaceutical industry would be a distinct advantage. If the following points align with your qualifications, we encourage you to apply:

  • PhD (preferably), MD or MSc in biological science, life science, biomedical physics, or related discipline
  • Hands-on experience operating preclinical and/or clinical PET/SPECT/CT scanners and analytical software
  • Strong understanding of experimental designs to investigate pharmacodynamics and biodistribution of radiopharmaceuticals
  • Technical knowledge in PET and SPECT for preclinical and clinical readouts is advantageous
  • Excellent verbal and written skills in English, scientific writing skills, presentation skills with ability to professionally communicate with internal and external stakeholders

You should be able to work flexibly across multiple projects, easily adapting to shifting priorities in a fast-paced environment. A proactive, self-motivated, and independent working style is essential. Experience working within a multidisciplinary team, with an understanding of broader organizational goals, would be a valuable asset.
