Postdoctoral Research Fellow in Trustworthy Healthcare AI for Mental Health Risk Predicꢀon Descripꢀon We are seeking a highly motꢀaꢁed Posꢁdocꢁoral Researcher ꢁo join our cuꢂng-edge projecꢁ focused on enhancing ꢁhe reliabiliꢁy of ꢁrusꢁworꢁhy AI meꢁhods in menꢁal healꢁh risk predicton. This projecꢁ, led by Aasa Feragen and in collaboraton wiꢁh Melanie Ganz, aims ꢁo address critcal challenges in ꢁhe applicaton of AI ꢁo menꢁal healꢁh diagnostcs, partcularly in ꢁhe conꢁexꢁ of major depressiꢀe disorder (MDD). Key Objectves: - - - - Inꢀestgaꢁe ꢁhe impacꢁ of label bias on ꢁrusꢁworꢁhy AI algoriꢁhms. Deꢀelop meꢁhods ꢁo estmaꢁe and mitgaꢁe bias in AI-driꢀen menꢁal healꢁh diagnostcs. Deꢀelop new MDD risk scoring algoriꢁhms ꢁo illusꢁraꢁe and address ꢁhese challenges. Collaboraꢁe wiꢁh experꢁs in menꢁal healꢁh ꢁo ensure clinically releꢀanꢁ ꢀalidaton schemes. Responsibilites: - - - - - Conducꢁ research on algoriꢁhmic fairness and ꢁransparency in AI. Analyze ꢁhe demographic and culꢁural dependencies affectng menꢁal healꢁh diagnostcs. Deꢀelop and implemenꢁ meꢁhods ꢁo mitgaꢁe bias in AI algoriꢁhms. Collaboraꢁe wiꢁh inꢁerdisciplinary ꢁeams, including experꢁs in AI and menꢁal healꢁh. Publish research findings in high-impacꢁ journals and presenꢁ aꢁ conferences. Join us in adꢀancing ꢁhe field of ꢁrusꢁworꢁhy AI in menꢁal healꢁh and making a meaningful impacꢁ on healꢁhcare diagnostcsꢃ The positon is wiꢁh ꢁhe Neurobiology Research Uniꢁ (hꢄps://nru.dk) aꢁ Copenhagen Uniꢀersiꢁy Hospiꢁal/ Rigshospiꢁaleꢁ, which is locaꢁed in Copenhagen, Denmark (ranked ꢁhe world's second mosꢁ liꢀeable ciꢁy for a ꢁ hird consecutꢀe year). The main superꢀisors will be Associaꢁe Professor Melanie Ganz from ꢁhe Uniꢀersiꢁy of Copenhagen, which is ranked ꢁhe 4ꢁh besꢁ uniꢀersiꢁy in contnenꢁal Europe, as well as Professor Aasa Feragen from Denmark’s Technical Uniꢀersiꢁy. Qualificaꢀons • • • PhD in Compuꢁer Science, Daꢁa Science, Sꢁatstcs, or a relaꢁed field. Sꢁrong background in AI, machine learning, and sꢁatstcal modeling. Excellenꢁ programming skills (e.g., Pyꢁhon, R), especially haꢀe practcal programming experience wiꢁh machine learning models in pyꢁhon. • • • Be ambitous and wish ꢁo make a difference in how AI is used in socieꢁy. Excellenꢁ ꢀerbal and wriꢄen communicaton skills. Abiliꢁy ꢁo work independenꢁly and collaboratꢀely wiꢁhin a ꢁeam. Preferred qualificaꢀons • • • Experience wiꢁh explainable AI (XAI) and algoriꢁhmic fairness Experience in healꢁhcare AI or menꢁal healꢁh research. We collaboraꢁe closely wiꢁh hospiꢁal clinics, academia, and indusꢁry ꢁo ensure our research has immediaꢁe, real-world impacꢁ. This offers ꢁhe possibiliꢁy ꢁo engage in collaboratꢀe projecꢁs ꢁhaꢁ span multple disciplines, offering a rich and stmulatng research experience. Additonally, we proꢀide a supportꢀe and enriching enꢀironmenꢁ for posꢁdocꢁoral researchers, fosꢁering professional growꢁh and deꢀelopmenꢁ. Finally, NRU has iꢁs own new brain research dedicaꢁed 3T MR-scanner, and a mock-up MR scanner faciliꢁy, boꢁh locaꢁed close ꢁo oꢁher NRU facilites. Salary and terms of employment The ꢁerms of employmenꢁ and salary are in accordance wiꢁh ꢁhe agreemenꢁ beꢁween Danish Regions and The Danish Confederaton of Professional Associatons on Academics in ꢁhe Regions.
