At DTU Electro's Solar Photovoltaic Systems Group, we develop advanced solutions to enhance solar energy harvesting, facilitate integration into built environments, and develops efficiency improvements through innovative materials and systems. We are looking for an Associate Professor to strengthen our research and teaching in photovoltaic energy systems, with a focus on photovoltaic technologies and their application in real-world environments.

Responsibilities and qualifications
As an Associate Professor in our Solar Photovoltaic Systems group, your primary focus will be to:

  • Lead research in the development of next-generation photovoltaic technologies, including Building-Integrated Photovoltaics (BIPV), ground-mounted systems and new metallization pathways high efficiency silicon solar cells, and further lead research in reliability assessment of the new photovoltaic technologies.
  • Teach and supervise students in photovoltaic energy technologies and related fields, ensuring hands-on learning experiences through our state-of-the-art laboratories for solar cell testing and applied photovoltaics.
  • Collaborate with academic and industrial partners to advance the design and deployment of sustainable energy systems, optimizing both performance and aesthetics for urban environments.
  • Contribute to DTU’s leadership in solar energy integration, including research on colored photovoltaic panels, field performance data analysis, and the financial and environmental assessment of solar energy systems.
  • Publish in high-impact journals and present at leading international conferences to disseminate findings in solar technology innovations.
  • Contribute to attract funding for the group from both Danish and international funding bodies.

You must be responsible for the teaching of courses. DTU employs two working languages: Danish and English. You are expected to be fluent in at least one of these languages, and in time are expected to master both.

As formal qualification you must hold a PhD degree (or equivalent) as well as academic qualifications equivalent to those obtained by holding an assistant professorship and documented didactic/pedagogic training.

Salary and terms of employment
The appointment will be based on the collective agreement with the Danish Confederation of Professional Associations. The allowance will be agreed upon with the relevant union.
