Camp Coordination and Camp Management Officer-Information Management

Duty Station: Sittwe Office, Rakhine State
Report to: Camp Coordination and Camp Management Manager
Overall purpose of the role:

The Camp Coordination and Camp Management (CCCM) Officer assists the CCCM team in managing data and information for DRC-managed camps housing Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs). The main responsibilities include:

  • Producing comprehensive and quality data on CCCM activities.
  • Managing, analyzing, and sharing data to support evidence-based humanitarian responses.
  • Ensuring compliance with DRC standards and guidelines on information management and data protection.

The officer reports to the CCCM Project Manager and supports the efficient implementation of CCCM activities. They work closely with other field staff and the targeted communities to plan and mobilize activities.

Responsibilities:
Data management and analysis

  • Ensure effective data management by developing data collection tools and methodologies, designing and managing database systems for data management and analysis purposes.
  • Regularly liaise with other CCCM team members to update monthly related data into the centralized data tracker with support from line managers
  • Perform quality checks of the database on a weekly basis, reporting any issues and changes to the line manager and CCCM team
  • Contribute and support the CCCM team in updating 5W and camp profile data.
  • Plan for all information products, including the definition of standard operating procedures for clearing information products for release.

IM Technical Supporting and Reporting

  • Provide technical expertise in Information management to the CCCM team and closely work with the MEAL teams in developing methodologies for data collection, processing and analysis for both qualitative and quantitative data
  • Ensure to update monthly CCCM data and cross check with the Area MEAL colleagues for the final submission
  • Based on necessity, the IM officer is required to work closely with the IM colleagues from CCCM/Shelter/NFI cluster.
  • Train other CCCM team members on data entry, data checking and reports development,
  • Provide guidance and training to DRC CCCM team on the use of data collection tools, IM and Kobo tool
  • Maintain databases and provide internal reports as required,
  • Perform any other relevant tasks as requested by Line Manager.

Programming & Operations

  • Ensure efficient and effective program implementation while following the budget and work plan
  • Participate in preparing monthly/quarterly/annual highlights/reports and proposals and budgets for donors
  • Lead the team in carrying out monitoring and evaluation exercise
  • Support site monitoring exercises monthly

Coordination and representation

  • Collaborate with relevant internal and external technical experts on sector relevant issues
  • Represent DRC at meetings and other relevant technical coordination meetings
  • Ensure integration with other DRC sectors
  • Coordinate with Sittwe-based service provider staff and report issues to Team Leader

Logistics/Finance

  • Support the monitoring of financial commitments and expenditures against budgets and provide timely feedback on budget follow-up
  • Plan and coordinate proactively logistics and movements of staff from and to different operational areas
  • Initiate procurements and ensure their execution
  • Ensure distribution plans are prepared and shared with logistics in a timely manner
  • Any other duties relating to the nature of the job as requested by the Manager

Experience and technical competencies:

  • University degree in Information Technology, Information Systems, Statistics, social science or a relevant field
  • 2 years of relevant experience at the national or international level in information management, database management, mapping
  • Knowledge of different data collection methodologies and proven capacity to analyze statistical information,
  • Knowledge in Excel, KOBO, ODK, Fulcrum, Activity Info, GIS Power Bi and Advanced Excel (essential)
  • Expertise in the administration of Office 365 and SharePoint
  • Proven abilities in data collection, compilation, analysis and reporting with ability to write in a clear and concise manner and effective oral communication.
  • Proven skills in infographic management.
  • Good understanding and experience of monitoring and evaluation processes
  • Working knowledge proficiency in English
  • Other local languages are considered as an asset.

Contract: DRC will offer the successful applicant a DRC’s Regular contract included 3-month probation. Renewable depends on both funding and performance. Salary and conditions will be in accordance with DRC’s Terms of Employment. The position is placed in Employment Band H.
