The position
You will report to the Head of Sourcing & Alliance Management and work in close collaboration with a high number of stakeholders. You will be using your negotiation capabilities, draft agreements and provide guidance and advice on laws, regulations and on a broad spectrum of related judicious matters within a highly regulated medical device and pharma environment.

You will be part of our Legal, Ethics & Compliance Team anchored in Sourcing & Alliance Management and join a rapidly changing and dynamic environment.

Your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Enable successful strategic partnerships via contracting, negotiation, and risk mitigation and include wise and mutually value adding solutions which can form a lasting foundation safeguarding our license to operate and sustain our promise to patients
  • Participate in the evaluation and occasional due diligence related to key device partners and contribute to the strengthening of our focus on Ethics and Compliance (E&C)
  • Help to identify and assess E&C risks through gap analysis related to Business Ethics Code of Conduct attestation activities in alignment with our E&C Strategy
  • Engage and liaise with our internal legal teams at all levels including our GBS Legal Team in Bangalore on updates, templates, best practice initiatives, regulatory compliance developments, policies, standards, procedures, risks, KPIs, etc
  • Provide sparring to your legal colleagues and share ideas and best practice during contract preparation, negotiations and drafting and be prepared to engage in a wide variety of legal aspects and contracting, including drafting of MSA’s, SOW’s, MTA’s, NDA’s, development- and other agreements
  • Contribute to the structuring of the area by the development of legal templates, training materials, and train and upskill DDS colleagues on legal, ethics and compliance matters and develop proactive guidance, tools, and best practice materials

This job is a unique opportunity to obtain valuable insights into the Novo Nordisk’s value chain at the device development stage. To succeed you must be ready to learn, build competences, and network with stakeholders across DDS, Development, Research & Early Development, Product Supply, Commercial, Quality, Finance, Global Legal incl. GBS Legal to guarantee that initiatives are optimally aligned and offer maximal realization of value.

Qualifications
To succeed in this role, you should have:

• A master’s degree in law, business law or equivalent and 8+ years of hands-on experience from an international medical device or pharma company
• Extensive experience with Pharma Law and contracting and working within IPR, M&A’s, ethics, compliance, and legal risk mitigation
• Strong negotiation skills and an ability to find wise and mutually value adding solutions. In this context, a key ability will be to skillfully work with a common goal across areas and functions of high complexity
• Experience in working with medical device development incl. Software as a Medical Device (SaMD) and connected solutions in a pharma context is a must
• Professional proficiency in English

Sourcing & Alliance Management identifies, aligns, and enables external strategic partners to contribute with innovative, value adding, risk mitigated and lasting solutions. Legal, Ethics and Compliance is anchored here. We are a part of Delivery Solutions Innovation in Novo Nordisk Devices and Delivery Solutions (DDS). Our base is in Hillerød and at times in Søborg. In DDS we are around 500+ employees. We design and develop highly innovative devices and digital therapeutics – often with selected external partners - to the benefit of patients.
