We are looking for a Chief Operating Officer (COO) for our growing Private Markets boutique to oversee the financial and business risks as well as proactively support the development of procedures and processes. As part of the management team, the COO will report to the Head of Private Markets, but have accountability towards the NAM CIO.

About the team

Welcome to the Private Markets investment team within Nordea Asset Management. The team manages a fast growing portfolio of funds and mandates across private equity, private credit, real assets and natural capital on behalf of Nordea Bank as well as external institutional clients.

You’ll join a dedicated, entrepreneurial and growing team with passion for private markets. The candidate should be based in Copenhagen, Helsinki or Stockholm.

Responsibilities in this role include:

• Oversight and reporting of business & financial risks reporting to the Head of Private Markets and NAM’s CIO
• Investment Committee and Fund Board participation & oversight
• Maintenance & development of business procedures and processes
• Coordination of external & internal service providers
• General ad hoc business support & facilitation

• A good understanding of private markets and the operating model complexities therein
• A thorough understanding of financial, operational and business risks
• An ability to coordinate and streamline business procedures across sub-teams
• An ability to communicate clearly and effectively
• A motivation for process improvement and change management
• Proficiency in the use of English as a working language
• Professional attitude and team working skills
• A strategic mindset and ability to see the bigger picture

Your experience and background:

• Masters level academic degree (e.g. law or finance)
• Relevant work experience with oversight/risk management, strategy and project management
