The Foundations Package Manager will be part of the Technical Development team. In this role, you will develop and manage the foundation package, overseeing the full lifecycle of foundation design, procurement, and installation for offshore wind projects. You will lead technical reviews, ensure cost efficiency, and manage project timelines while working closely with engineering teams, contractors, and other stakeholders to resolve issues and manage risks.
Primary job duties include the following:
- Lead the design, procurement, and installation of foundation systems for offshore wind projects from pre-construction through to FID and to EPC contract award and execution.
- Supporting the development and presenting project steering material and high-level decisions to senior management.
- Provide the required input to the other project packages during design and construction phases and define the working interfaces with them.
- Regular communication with the local Japanese certification authorities.
- Support in planning and coordinating interfaces related to the foundation package.
- Support the procurement team in the co-ordination of all related tendering processes and evaluation of suppliers.
- Lead supplier negotiations in coordination with the procurement and legal teams, ensuring contract terms are aligned with project goals and regulatory requirements for delivery and execution of these contracts until handover to operations.
- Undertake technical bid review and tender evaluations.
- Secure lessons learned feedback from the global portfolio is shared within the Japan team.
- Foster innovation and creative problem-solving to overcome technical challenges, ensure the project remains on time and within budget, and adapt designs to meet site-specific conditions.
- Work closely with local APAC teams and headquarters, reporting progress and challenges.
- Coordinate efforts to secure sufficient quality and ensure that HSE requirements are met.

The Foundations Package Manager is a senior-level position that will report to the Technical Development Director. To succeed in this role, you will have the following:
- A bachelor’s degree or higher in mechanical, civil, structural, or geotechnical engineering (master’s degree preferred).
- 5-10 years of experience in offshore wind or large-scale infrastructure projects.
- Strong knowledge of foundation design and installation in the offshore sector; geotechnical surveys will be beneficial.
- Several years of professional experience in the management of complex technical projects.
- Extensive technical and practical knowledge of foundation technology, preferably in offshore wind
- Familiarity with the relevant Japanese standards such as the Unified Commentary of Technical Standards for Offshore Wind Power Facilities (METI & MLIT, 2020), and Guidelines for Design of Wind Turbine Support Structures and Foundations (JSCE, 2010).
- Experience with the Japanese certification process, including liaising with authorities such as METI or ClassNK, is an advantage.
- Advantage to have geotechnics, structures, offshore wind foundations dynamics
- EPCM: Experience negotiating EPCI contracts or managing EPCI contracts is desirable.
- Strong relationship management and networking skills and a cooperative way of working
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to present and communicate complex matters in a clear and concise manner
- Ability to take initiative and make rational decisions even with under pressure and be result-oriented.
- Experience with foundation design and geotechnical software (e.g., AutoCAD, SAP2000, GRLWEAP, or equivalent) is an advantage.
- Willingness to travel to project sites and supplier locations as required.
- Native Japanese and good command of English.
